S4 coming Nov 18!

that will have to wait until next year to see DSC.

Oh we won't.

Trying to coerce me & many other fans into buying Paramount+ is going to end very badly for them. I find the fact they think they have the capability to play with Netflix, Disney+, and Prime to be laughable. Paramount is a company with no money and totally debt ridden.

Netflix losing all of Trek (as it will) will be a sting as I believe that is a very popular product on the streaming service but they will adapt :borg:.

Prime and Disney+ have the financial clout to never go out of business from other aspects of their business model.

I'm really pissed off now :mad::mad:
Taking off Discovery from Netflix three days before the season premiere, when everyone's waiting for it, is such a shitty and mean move:barf:

I'm absolutely speechless!!!

Do they really think people have money for an infinite amount of streaming services???

So goodbye Disco, you will be missed by me!

I'm not really fussed to be honest. There is nothing else I watch on Netflix other than Star Trek. As Australia has Paramount +, I'll be getting rid of Netflix once the trek shows disappear from it. Hopefully we get season 4 of Disco on Friday. We got prodigy at 24 hours after the U.S so I don't see why not.

Yup, it is more of the same mismanagement of Trek as you'd expect from the 90s/00s. Absolute shit move, literally a few days before the premiere.

I of the age now where I’m just happy to complain to the top bosses. Hilariously, the ‘contact us’ website is blocked for the UK, but Google cache still finds it:

Let’s start a letter writing campaign.

I just pointed out to them it’s ludicrous in this day and age to not have global broadcasts and people will just get it off pirate sites. It’s crazy.

No way I'd subscribe to Paramount+ just for Discovery, even if it was coming out this year. I watch it on Netflix because I have Netflix anyway. Guess I'll just give up on it, never really got any better than "pretty good, I suppose?" anyway.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but Australia won't be seeing DSC either until next year.

yeah, it reminds me of the way Paramount insisted that Trek not air in Australia until after it was out on VHS. That meant it was relegated to late night TV slots years after it first aired in the US, and stifled growth of the fanbase.

It’s so short-sighted.

Interesting that they had to pay Netflix to. allow them to have the property. So more evidence that Star Trek Discovery is very much a viable commodity for Paramount + considering how much money Netflix was paying them to broadcast it.

I wouldn’t have thought that a deal “in the healthy six figures” is much for a show which costs more than that per episode - especially when Netflix was covering much of that budget.

There are ways to get Paramount Plus outside the Colonies. Helps if you have a Apple TV device and a VPN

Yeah, we in Finland have Paramount+ as well, but they just refuse to release Trek in there. On the plus side, we might finally get all the missing Short Treks in there once the service is fully on board.

I just checked the price, and P+ for us is 7€ a month, with first three months for 50% off. The price is all right, I have Netflix with 3 of my friends ordered, and might cancel that once Trek leaves there. Other than that, I subscribe to HBO and my girlfriend has Disney+, so we are good with P+. I only subscribe to Prime Video when there's new Trek, and cancel when there's not.

You’re not missing much with the Short Treks. You’re better off not seeing them

Star Trek Discovery has been removed from Netflix. It doesn't appear when I search for it. TOS, TAS, TNG, DS9, VOY, ENT and the abrams fills are still there though.
