Top 3 Favorite Non-Trek Spaceships

Oooh another few I like.

Crazy disco lighted First Ones Ship from Babylon 5, you see it I think in season 1 or 2 and it's the very first mention of them on the show too.

The mothership from Close Encounters, does a nice 180 flip to land at least for me that's the impression I got from watching the movie or was it just the way they film that ship? It's a gorgeous ship.

The Cylon raiders from 70s BSG. Didn't care for the modernized version.

it's the Orbit Jet (replaced later by the identical Silver Moon) from early 50's tv show Rocky Jones: Space Ranger. The FX were the best of that time when it comes to sci-fi on tv, and frankly it's a shame that it's been forgotten. The model work and ship sets were easily the best of it's contemporaries and it was eventually cancelled due to how expensive it was. The Orbit Jet always seemed like a cozy ship to travel in.
I've never even heard of that one.

So hard to narrow down just three!

My choices:

1. BC-303 class Battlecruiser (Stargate franchise)

2. The Rocinante (The Expanse)

3. KCCCP Alexei Leonov (2010: The Year We Make Contact) - leftfield choice but it's the direct inspiration for Babylon 5's Omega Destroyer, which I also love and was tempted to put on this list.

Honourable mentions:

Mercury class Battlestar (NuBSG), USS Sulaco (Aliens), The Event Horizon (movie of the same name), UNSC Infinity (Halo universe) and the Peacekeeper Command Carrier (Farscape).

The Peacekeeper carrier is a neat one but what's with the huge coathanger bit in the middle?

The larger rings are tracks for the frag cannons, the upper rings were never explained on screen, but I'd assume they're either part of the defences (perhaps PDCs or shield projectors?) or part of the Hetch drive.

Thanks, some really cool designs happened in Farscape

Moya - Farscape
The White Star - Babylon 5
The main ship from Stargate Atlantis (I forgot the name, as I've only seen the series once).

So that would be Atlantis it's self then as it is a starship after all, but I suspect you are thinking of the BC-304 Dadealus cass ship.

I was thinking about the Dadealus. I guess technically Atlantis is a ship, but I saw it more along the lines of a space station, like DS9. I guess it only moved three times (Rising from underwater, shifting planets in I believe the Season 4 Finale/Season 5 premiere, and then making it back to Earth) in the shows run makes me forget that it was actually a ship.

Cosmostrator was also lovely.
As was the Super-Swift, and the ship from THE TOMORROW PEOPLE.

The craft from PASSENGERS looks as advanced as a sub-light ship could ever be.

...'cause they're space carriers.

OMG Above and Beyond, glad someone remembers that. Loved the dropships and especially loved the hammerheads. They were a very cool idea, could fly both in the air and in space..

I like the original version of Galactica.

Not technically a spaceship, but...

Automan's car.
