Last I heard from anything like a reputable source, SOMETHING starts filming in 2022. But nobody seems to know what. If it isn't Rogue Squadron, and it sure doesn't sound like it is with this latest news, then what on Earth could it be?
The source in question specifically said a movie filming in 2022, separate from the Disney+ shows.
I love how little information is out there. Might get a Christmas surprise.
Well Friday is Disney day or something, a year out from all the other anouncments, so there's a good chance of information being released then, and updates on current and new tv series. Acolyte a year out is still no where near filming. Ashoka is the same, Rangers? defunct. so about half the stuff they announced last year is still vaporware.. not a good percentage..
Personally, I love that they have so many projects that I had to refresh my memory as to what different ones were coming. What I love even more is that there are more projects that are unannounced, which means a large confidence in the brand, that required some rebuilding after Disney took a step back after Solo.
Delayed indefinitely. Could they have not figured out the schedule before they went ahead and announced the thing? I doubt there is anything to replace it, I doubt any Director wants to fast track a Star Wars movie and if they do...well, we already know how that turns out.
Because everyone knows that a plan goes together perfectly once announced?

It's not like nobody knew Wonder Woman 3 was a possibility here.
There are a multitude of factors going on with scheduling right now. Things happen. I'm going to assume they are doing their best to manage with what they have.
2 years is alot of time still.

2 years is plenty of time with an experienced crew. Hopefully they give us a name and then leave it at that.

Johnson has finished filming Knives Out 2, so we get some movement on his trilogy once he's done with post-production on that.
The first movie in Johnson's trilogy would be my guess.
It's Disney+ Day, celebrating the anniversary of it's launch, so I'm pretty sure it'll just be focusing on stuff that will be going there. So the only Star Wars announcements will probably be about the shows, not the movies.
