Last few thoughts based on the rewatch of last week's ep before tonight's...
Claire and the Angels - I think I'm overthinking it. I don't think she's anything to do with Clara, it's just the Moffat ontological paradox because that's what the Angels do. When she meets the Doctor in the street, she says "We'll meet in the past... if I'm right." So I think that once she got sent to the past, she wrote herself a letter telling her future self what to expect. That's why she knew how to recognise the Doctor, that the Angels were coming for her, and how to deal with them by not blinking. She knew it had to happen because it had already happened, that's why she had to pluck up her courage telling herself "You have to go home now, Claire." Of course once she got there the fear kicked in and she tried to escape it anyway, but it was inevitable. I don't think it's any more complicated than that. The only remaining question is why the Angels targeted her specifically - were they sending her back in time to a certain time and place for a reason? Could the Angels actually be trying to help in their own way?
The Flux - we actually saw it destroy the other planets in our own solar system before reaching Earth. So clearly that can't be a thing that they can leave as having really happened, which means that a lot of the destruction being caused by the Flux will have to get undone by the end of the season. Maybe that's part of what the Angels are trying to do, with the time travelling to the past.
