Minor gripes include the Sontarans’ ridiculous ineptitude
Have we ever seen anything to show that Sontarans are anything but inept?
Suspect much of their military success has do with sheer numbers than anything else.

Uh, no? I don't have to watch it to critique it. I read an in depth review about the events of the episode (which I did after reading this thread and finding out about the new time controlling aliens bullshit), and thats all that matters when it comes to me forming my opinion. The episode was so bad that I'm glad I got warned ahead of time and didn't bother to watch it. A few minutes of reading an in depth synopsis/review was a lot quicker then watching 45+ minutes of garbage.
Oh, and I just love Carvinista. Speaking of which... I guess Yaz' bonded specimen didn't get the memo?
This. I'm curious if we'll ever get any clue about why Yaz doesn't seem to have a doggo guardian. Even just a throwaway line or something.
Yeah, it would be extremely easy to do. "Why don't I have a guardian?" "You must have been off-world when we counted the population and assigned guardians."
Once you say your critiquing a show WITHOUT watching it (or any plans to watch it), your opinion is invalidated. You CAN'T critique something you haven't seen/heard/experienced. Going by hearsay is a ridiculous excuse. JMO
As far as the episode goes, this is honestly the best thing that Doctor Who has done with the Sontarans ever, and could very conceivably be the last time we ever see them, which I'd be fine with because I'm not sure how you'd top this story.

At the very least, the one bright spot of both episodes so far has been Whittaker. I liked when I rewatched her two series, but thought she was probably the weakest of all the Doctors to date. But if this keeps up, she might rise above John Hurt at least, cause this series is the first time I have felt I'm watching her as the Doctor. She finally inhabits the role, and what a treat. It helps, of course, that she commands the story for the first time and actually propels the action forward. Very good, looking forward to more of that.

Guys, just ignore @kirk55555. His so-called opinions are nothing more than irrelevant noise.
