So, we’ve started the production of our teaser and, since we’ll be guests on radio on Wednesday, we’ve decided it’s time to start going public!
Who are we?
We are an odd group of fans, video makers, actors and musicians living around Turin, Italy. We got together to realise the first Italian Star Trek fan film, “Of Love and Honor”
When will the movie come out?
Right now we’re halfway through filming the teaser, which is planned for February. After that we’ll launch a crowdfunding campaign to BUILD A BRIDGE SET and film the full movie.
How long is the film and why do we need a real set?
The script was originally written to stay within the 30 minutes permitted by the guidelines, however in rehearsal we realise it will end up being closer to 50 minutes. We’re respecting the guidelines as much as possible, so it’s a self-contained story with new characters, but it’s pretty complex and cutting it down would be impossible.
Of Love and Honor is a “submarine movie” akin to The Hunt for Red October or also classic Star Trek items such as TWoK, Journey to Babel and Balance of Terror, with so much action taking place on the bridge we realised that having a real set would really improve the end result, so we plan on building one.
Will it be in Italian?
Yes, the movie is being filmed in Italian but the whole script has already been translated into English and we’d like to have it dubbed. In fact, we’re looking for voice actors right now, contact me if you are interested in participating.
Which era is the film set into?
Of Love and Honor is set in mid-23th century but on a ageing 40 years old ship used by Starfleet as a training vessel. We are looking to create our own visual identity, taking something from TOS, something from the new series and putting something of our own in.
What’s the story about?
Our story is about love, duty and personal growth. Our aim is to present a story in which each character comes out changed by the end and bring on screen some classic Star Trek situations but with a few new twists.
And from the “honor” part of the title you can guess who will show up!
