Yeah you've got 5 of these on the first page.

After this one, let's give it a rest for a while.

What's next?

What are your top 4 Star Trek door shapes?

Sky colours?

Bussard ram scoop twinkling patterns?
There is no doubt that door shapes would be at least as relevant as senior staff.

EDIT: A "red shirt" who joined in 2001? You don't participate much in these threads do you? Or, is your account an alternate?

No problem. You have to admit that they have drawn interest and participation though.

Just because he's a newbie no need to pick on him. Besides, it's not the quantity that matters, it's the quality.

Is Culber CMO? I guess maybe in S3, fairly sure he wasn't in S1+2 though.

Crusher, Bashir, Doctor, Phlox

Honorable mention for McCoy (Urban).
Good call. I forgot to add Urban's McCoy as an option. I updated the poll, so you can change your selection if you like.

I was clearly not "picking on him." I was making another inference...

I would not define making an obviously erroneous conflation (in an effort to "pick" on the original poster, no less) as "quality."

Close enough. What physician is more relevant on that show?

1. Pulaski. She was super underrated.
2. Phlox and his critters.
3. EMH, for snark, singing voice, and actual character development (a rarity on Voyager).
4 is a tough call; Julian developed more but Beverly had a great 1000-yard phaser stare. Had the potty mouthed Lower Decks cat doctor been on the list of choices, she would have whomped them both.

HM. I haven't seen enough of Hugh to rate him properly; once I can binge out the rest of Discovery, he might climb as well.

Being old school, I obviously went with the four main doctors of TOS, TNG, DS9 & VOY.

Pulaski was only a one-season fill-in and she seemed too much like a colorful metaphor, especially the way she treated Data like second-class crap.

Since I'm only lukewarm to ENT, Phlox never really seemed interesting and I don't even remember too much about him.

Ditto for J.J. Trek McCoy. While Karl Urban did a good job in his portrayal of him; but in the end it is just one man's interpretation of Trek and not the one I care for.

While I think Boyce was a very good pre-McCoy being both a curmudgeon and Captain's advisor, we know nothing more about him beyond his one appearance.

Have no idea who or what a Hugh Culber is.

But since you included at least one one-hit wonder, where is Dr. Piper, the various different version of the EMH Mark I, the Mark II, to say nothing of Doctor Chapel?

Well, I think the other EMH's were on screen for a little less than a season, and Dr. Chapel spent much of her career as a "nurse" and never a "chief medical officer." Culber is just there for Discovery representation.

But that did two positive things. One, it created conflict, instead of everyone just being friendly friends. Two, it gave Pulaski somewhere to go, a way to develop. By "Peak Performance", her attitude toward Data had changed a lot.

Will Phil Boyce not appear in the upcoming series? If so, someone might modify their selection later. I was just thinking ahead.

It just seems like you're making these lists specifically to discount or exclude Lower Decks characters, and also try to push the Kelvin version of the characters as their own thing separate from the originals.

Boyce may or may not be in the next series, but reports seem to indicate that they will have a new CMO, or at least prominent Doctor, in the form of M'Benga.

I wonder who the Doctor will be on Prodigy.

I am not including animated characters (which would include characters that were exclusive to TAS). It simply isn't the same thing...

It seems entirely appropriate to seperate the Kelvin characters out since many of them were played very differently from the originals. Some on here have even requested that I do so...

Alrighty. I wasn't certain, but it didn't seem like it couldn't hurt to add him. It seems that there is always something someone could complain about no matter what you do, doesn't it?

Why not? That's confusing as to why they are not the same thing? Are they second-tiered characters or something?:wtf:
It's not confusing, and the reason should be clear. A voice actor doesn't have to demonstrate the same range of talents as a live action actor.
Not "always".
If someone is intent on complaining, they can always find a reason to complain.
Just when your polls are arbitrary and inconsistent.
These polls have garnered a good deal of participation and spawned some interesting conversation, so they are clearly not "arbitrary" to everyone. They have also been consistent in including all phases of live action Star Trek.
