One of the early Cerebus collections has an intro where creator Dave Sim wrote about meeting legendary artist Marshall Rogers. For Rogers, it was never "Batman" or "Bat-Man" but always "THE Batman".Usually when I see Bat-Man it's "The Bat-Man".

That reminds me of the local TV announcer sometime back in the '70s who said, "Stay tuned for The Amazing Spiderman!" (He pronounced the last syllable of "Spiderman" with a neutral vowel, like Grossman or Newman.)Why are Superman, Iron Man and Spider-Man written the way they are?
It's not a reception problem. I'd check if the set with no sound is tuned to a secondary audio language for that station. Another thing to try would be to rescan the channels if the PSIP tables have gotten messed up.Does anyone understand TV reception? I have two TVs downstairs, both using the same brand of over-the-air antennas, they're in separate rooms but not that far apart, yet on one TV a set of channels (5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4) has no sound while they're all just fine on the other TV. It's not a hardware issue because, like I said, it's just one group of stations.
Do what you need to for your sanity. No job is worth your mental & physical & emotional health. I hope whatever happens, it's best for you. *hugs*Well, I'm unemployed again. I was unemployed for two years until a month ago when I got a job at a grocery store's meat depmartment, but dealing with the stress and costumers were sending my social anxiety through the roof, so I finally couldn't take it and quit Saturday.
Now I'm not sure if I want to try to find another job, or just see if my anxiety is enough to get me on disability, and then focus on school. I've also been thinking about volunteering at a farm animal sanctuary, so I can stay active, but not have to deal with people as much. I've been seeing a lot of stuff online about how that kind of thing is good for anxiety.

Eventually the sound started playing with nothing being done to the TV.

Thanks. Yeah, my job before this was at Wal-Mart, so between the two, I've run into some crazy people.I hope things work out for you. My son works at a grocery store and he always comes home with stories about the crazy and rude customers.

Have you ever thought about a job in a warehouse, driving a forklift or order picker? That's what I do, here in Sydney. You still have to deal with people but I found it a lot less than working in retail which I hated and was no good at and people are fucking idiots. I was 34 when I started here, after not working for two years between 2014 and 2016. I was depressed and miserable and just randomly applied for the job as part of Jobseeker payments. It's helped me a lot working here.Well, I'm unemployed again. What kind of bike do you have?Someone made a half-hearted attempt to steal my motorcycle a couple of days ago. They'd managed to find the engine-on and starter button and messed with the lock. Fortunately they didn't know how to pick a barrel-key lock and left it alone. Now I am wondering if they will try again. I find myself kind of at peace with the idea, insurance should cover it if they succeed and I'll get another bike.
