GhostBusters 3 is Finally Being Made. (2020 Release)

Fair enough. They really do. This one's actually pretty restrained, by third trailer standards, though.

Yeah, it's all a matter of retaining a fresh perspective going in. It's of course much more difficult to do these days with all the spoilerific headlines, but it can be done, and the experience is more rewarding. I only know the very basics of this movie, ie the setting and the relations between characters and I feel that's all I really need to know.

So as an alternative, here's a video of Adam Savage getting to poke around the prop trailer on location and play with the new versions of the old equipment. ;)

I finally got to this video and Adam continues to prove he's the best kind of nerd. :D

I have to admit I'm not sure how I feel about them using a shotgun's pump handle for the neutrona wand; one of the things I respected about the video game's approach was the insistence that (gameplay mechanics aside) the proton pack was a piece of equipment, not a weapon. It also seem anathema for Egon to ever own a firearm . . . though on the other hand if he happened to inherit one with the house (which to my horror I gather is a thing in the States?!) I can 100% see him disassembing it and repurposing the parts for something else.

Could just be something as simple as requiring to replace some parts and cobbling them together based on what was available around him, which in some ways is very much like it happened in the first movie.

Although it's an incredibly low bar, one would hope this is better than Ghostbusters: The Vagina Monologues

Having kids fighting ghosts isn't what I'd call an improvement, but again the bar has been set so low after the last movie anything is possible

These trailers aren't doing anything for me. :(

In any case, sorry to say, I'm not seeing any movies in the theater for the foreseeable future, including films I'd really like to (Dune). Yeah, it's the pandemic.

So, it'll be home media or TV. Maybe I'll check it out from the library.

It just feels like a cynical, by the numbers cash in. Chasing nostalgia $$$$ from older millennials/young Gen X plus kid cast members so that when the Millennial/Gen X fans bring their children the kids will latch onto it for a new franchise for a new generation of fans.

I'd been pondering putting together an Ghostbusters uniform for a while now. The trailer put me over the top, I've got the Flight Suit and patches on the way. I'm just going to do a DIY proton pack, unless another opportunity presents itself.

Fantastic! I hope you're willing to post photos once you're done.

The new Spirit Halloween pack and Hasbro Spengler Wand were too good to pass up for the price, so I went with those rather than build my own. Just made a few modifications to the pack and added silver distressing.
