I mean, I'm not an English teacher so I can't really help you with your lack of comprehension. If you are unfamiliar with words/phrases, its easy enough to google them. Here's a hint, though: the term edgelord fits The Batman perfectly, it could be used as an example of the concept in a dictionary.
What do you think an edgelord is?

What do you think an edgelord is?
Merriam-Webster doesn't even have an entry for it.

Urban Dictionary, however, does:

A poster on an Internet forum, (particularly 4chan) who expresses opinions which are either strongly nihilistic, ("life has no meaning," or Tyler Durden's special snowflake speech from the film Fight Club being probably the two main examples) or contain references to Hitler, Nazism, fascism, or other taboo topics which are deliberately intended to shock or offend readers.

Someone, especially posting on the internet, who uses shocking and nihilistic speech and opinions that they themselves may or may not actually believe to gain attention and come across as a more dangerous and unique person. Most Edgelords are teenagers trying to seem overly cool and/or over-casually apathetic.

So, Batman just walks into point blank heavy gunfire now?

And still no one shoots him the face! Even at near point blank distance

Your personal interpretation of a word that isn't even in the dictionary fits The Batman perfectly. Stop using words that aren't a definite part of your language to force an opinion on others so you can feel glorified in your personal believes. Grimdark.... edgelord. They don't even have an actual meaning. And before you go on about saying you didn't use the word grimdark in your post.... we talked about this a week ago or so I believe. Could be two weeks.

As for the movie itself.... I'm very curious. As many real Batman fans know, there are so many different interpretations of The Batman during its many decades as a comic. Some really violent. This seems to go on a very dark road with its take on both Batman and Bruce Wayne. I'm digging what I'm seeing sofar. I hope the movie will be good.

I've been a little torn with the direction it's taken, like if you strip it down enough is it still *Batman* or does it become something else. The trailer gave me a different thought that by having the villains less costumed that it sells the idea of donning the batsuit to rattle the criminals. When everyone's done up Batman is just one of a sea of costumes but here he stands apart that makes some sense.

No wonder he keeps using that word, it describes him almost perfectly.

Maybe I'm just getting old or something but The Batman trailer looked terrible. I mean, I don't even see how that's comprehensible as a "good" or watchable movie. It looked like a dark, pointless, mess.

I'm getting a 'Batman: Earth One' feeling from the trailer; especially in the look of Alfred and Penguin.

I thought Pattison looked a little slight as Wayne, but IMDB lists his height at 6.1 and he bulked up for the role, so maybe he's wearing clothing to disguise it.

However, I've always pictured Bruce Wayne as well proportioned and not overly muscular, similar to Bruce Lee; unlike Ben Affleck's body builder version.

So not only are we bringing Burton Batman back in the Flash, we are bringing back Burton's concept of Batman being a human tank due to his armor?

I personally would not pay to see this in the cinema - it looks well made and acted but I think angry Batman has been run into ground and it would be nice to see a different take.

I'm with you there. Would like to see it, but unless it gets a blowout aggregate score on RT, I doubt I'd make the effort. Cripes, I can't remember the last movie I saw at the theater.

For me now it is only stuff that I think is worth an IMAX trip - so off to see Dune next week. Otherwise nothing else coming out I would make a trip for.

So he’s wearing ablative armor? I can see it being bulletproof, but the impact itself should be enough to knock him down, especially when delivered by an automatic rifle.

That said, I do like me some dark Batman, so I’m giving a thumbs up to this, at least so far.

That's a myth, as the Mythbusters showed years ago:

You can skip to 3:30 or so for the part where they test with a bulletproof vest, using guns up to and including automatic rifles. Nothing except a shotgun shell even so much as knocks the target off its hook, and even that just barely budges it. Newton's Third Law says that the target is not going to be pushed back any farther than the shooter is (assuming comparable mass), so if the shooter can fire and remain standing, the victim won't be knocked down either.

What makes people fall when hit by a bullet is the shock to their system causing a loss of muscle control. They aren't "knocked down," they fall down.

I hate to say this but I liked the trailer. I didn't love it. While the first trailer blew me away and raised my expectations this one didn't. It doesn't mean it won't be a fantastic film. I will be there on day one to see it. It just feels slightly Nolanesque. The nightclub fight reminded me of the nightclub fight in The Dark Knight, the fight in the dark with the machine guns going off reminded me a bit of Batman Begins and The Dark Knight Rises while Batman was on his way to fight Bane.
