I may as well be first...

You can tell the director lacks experience, very apparent in places such as the fight scene at the end (their movements are so awkward), the playful ''cat and mouse'' game between Weston and Dr. Bannon could have been subtler instead of overly slapsticky.
But his choice to open the episode with a line-up of seemingly ailing people outside of sick bay had me scratching my head. Sure, it was used to show that things were not going well aboard the Farragut, but it sent plenty of wrong messages, such as:
!) if there's a fainting guy and coughing crewmen who look like they might have toxic poisoning waiting in line outside of an overwhelmed sick bay, maybe the Captain's log should reflect about problems more serious than a computer virus? And shouldn't the Captain look more worried for his crew at this point, and especially just minutes later when his Chief of engineering seems more concerned with her ego than the crowd of seriously weak crewmen that look at death's door down below? you would think when they finally reach the Starbase, that the first people to beam over would be emergency medical support, rather than engineers for a non-urgent procedure...
I get it, they wanted to start with some tension right away. However, it would have been more effective and on message to just have Carter walk through the corridor with numerous wall panels removed and exposed wires, and all of those extras busily taking readings or moving frantically from one end of the set to the other, instead of that bizarre sick bay setup.
Or, they could have started the webisode on the bridge itself, with chaos and clutter everywhere, more removed panels (and maybe a third of the LED screens turned off) to better visually portray a Ship going through significant technical problems. Start with the Captain's log voiceover as the camera pans or keeps cutting to Bridge personnel and technicians working feverishly to repair the systems.
2) I blame TNG and DS9 for this, but you'd think fanfilmmakers would take up the challenge when introducing a new alien race, to go further than just placing dots on their faces! I would have suggested giving the Themins a wacky different hairstyle at least. A more alien name than Hope would have been good too.
Hope, AKA Kristina Victor, was very pretty, but you can tell she hasn't acted that much before: hint for her and other fanfilm directors: making eye contact with your scene partners is a good thing.
3) I've mentioned before how I'm tired of fanfilms who keep using Klingons, and Romulans, and Harry Mudd...? Well now I can add how fed up I am with the inclusion of Section 26...or 72, or 38 or who the fuck cares...
4) The episode was kinda fun, but the entire storyline with Hope and the Themin race seemed severely underdeveloped, while the romance bit between Carter and Hope developed way too fast.
Great job by Michael Struck for the FX shots. Beautiful work, especially planet Mars. The music was ok, however in many scenes it tended to drown out the actors' dialogue.
Holly Bednar as Smithfield is always fun to watch, and I really enjoyed her flustered faces in this episode. John Broughton I always enjoy as Carter, but this time he completely made me laugh with that single ''Really?!?'' line he used on his mother. Great work
And finally at the end with the bridge crew doing the requisite shuttlepod ride/reveal of the new ship (didn't original Trek do this in one of the movies too?). with the new USS Farragut being revealed as a Reliant class ship instead. Does this mean that Farragut Forward will completely skip over the TMP era one-piece jumpsuits and go straight to the Marroon uniforms?!?
