Which brings me to a newbie question...
I've seen snippets of Axanar stuff on YT, couldn't they "get around" the problem by simply posting segments which us loyal fans could re-assemble in the correct order? Something like that would be a piece of cake with Debut Video Capture and VideoPad Video Editor.
 
At this rate some of the actors could die of old age while we wait. I can understand some of the bitterness. It's sad to witness.
 
Actors for one reason or another are gone from Prelude. Many of the key production personnel that made Prelude at least decent are gone. The script (which is freely available on da webz) is garbage. There’s not a lot of hope for it to be good even if Alec does manage to get the thing done.

Most of the professional actors who were involved in the 2014 Prelude to Axanar shoot have already stated they would not work any further on the project.

Of course Alec Peters fails to update the website when something like this happens, and once an actor decides to announce he/she is no longer associated with the project, Alex still fails to update the website, but of course starts denigrating the actor.

So, sadly, after Richard Hatchs' passing, who is left after Alec himself?

I know Tony Todd's position, and I think Kate Vernon has been rather silent over reprising her role. I remember that Gary Graham MIGHT be distancing himself from the project, but what is JG Hetzlers' position these days?
 
I think Hertzler’s still involved but who really knows? Graham I also thought I’d read had stepped away.

It doesn’t matter if actors still want to take part in the project or not. The agreement (see #5) that came out of the settlement specifically prohibits the use of professional actors in fan films.

That’s not the settlement agreement. The guidelines were created because Alec wanted them so badly but unfortunately it ended up biting the entire community in the ass more than himself.

Apparently, a waiver was part of the CBS settlement. Alec can use the actors from Prelude… er, Hertzler.
 
So , Hertzler IS still part of it? Plus the deposed Admiral Slater that Ramirez replaced, who was used in "Interlude"? Sorry, can't remember the actors name.

The irony here is that Roddenberry is on record as not liking FASA's angle on Trek. IIRC, "war games" (like the early "Star Fleet Battles", licensed directly from Franz Joseph, not Paramount) evolved into "roleplay games", partly in an attempt to make licensed "Star Trek" gaming more acceptable to GR.
