    Spot belonged to Data.

That would be good to see what she's been up to before Picard.

Not a lot to do about the placeholder numbers at the start — I expect I was still writing when the catalog page was created — but it does look like they updated it on Amazon, at least.

I do look forward to your Picard novel. If I can get the audiobook from Overdrive, I'll give it a listen. It would be interesting to hear the voices.

    @trampledamage

Could you add a poll and 'Review-Thread' please? Then we don't have to open a new one.

I'd prefer a new thread for the review, so this one can stay spoiler free for people who haven't read the book yet.

So would I, as I try not to enter review threads if I can avoid it.

And yep, that's the smaller of the Eaglemoss models. We actually got the little guide they did to the La Sirena early to make sure nothing in it conflicted too much with the book — but most of the schematics inside were early ones from before when they actually designed the sets.

I seem to remember you talked about this before, so if it's okay to ask: the set plans/deck plans you got to work with, are they the ones that have since gotten into circulation? I.e. with the stairs to sickbay missing and a few other things in the not-quite-final-stages of design? Or are there even more up-to-date or even more elaborate plans that we haven't seen yet?

Okay, I take that under advisement for when I actually get around to reading the book! Thank you!

What I did was I took the plans in circulation you mention, I resized them relative to one another to account for scale so the deck accesses would match up, and then modified for what I saw on screen. I also asked about some specific things and got answers. So it’s as close as I could get. I do account for the stairs, for example.

Oh, that's AMAZING! I can't wait to read the details you incorporated into your story!

I love trolling the series footage, set plans, and fan blogs and trying to figure out as much about Sirena as possible to incorporate into my fics, so seeing other people do the same is always a huge joy. I bet your takes are going to be fascinating! (I have so many thoughts on where the back stairs lead, I can't wait to find out yours! ;) )

Thanks so much for the answer :D

I was at Barnes and Noble in Lynnwood WA, yesterday and they had four or five copies out on the shelves in the sci-fi section of 'New Releases'. I took a photo on my phone, but I don't know how to upload it.
P.S. I would of bought it, but I was surprised to see it and I didn't have my birthday gift card with me. I'll get it this weekend.

I picked up a copy at B&N earlier today. Looking forward to diving in tonight or tomorrow (don’t fret, there won’t be any spoilers from me).

    I've just finished a first read-through.
To @JJMiller: thank you for this.

More on this topic at another time, another place, probably.

You’re very welcome. I was trying to write a book that both I needed and that readers needed — it doesn’t happen that way as often as it should!

Grabbed mine early yesterday at a B&N in Orland Park, IL (walked in, and literally there they were, sitting right next to the checkout-registers). Flew through the first 13 or 14 chapters last night before I went to bed. Hugely entertaining so far (the last scene I read was
the "ball-bearings" scene...trust me, you'll know it when it happens).

    In reply...
There may be no scene I have wanted to see in live action more!

Often the street dates on hardcovers are a big deal to bookstores, but there was no embargo on the books, no screaming red "DO NOT SELL BEFORE" sticker like was on the Enterprise War box. (Which we all agreed was needless then, and probably an artifact from the first DSC novel's release.)
