    RIP Milton
It was alright. I don’t know if it’s that much better than the first one. All I could notice is this one tries to be funnier and more gruesome. I wouldn’t have killed off Captain Boomerang as he was one of the better parts in the original, and that he could have been used in the Flash franchise and the last scene with Starro should have included some JL cameo since it’s their debut villain.
I’ll give it a 7/10. Third best DC movie this year.

    Poor Milton.
I enjoyed it, though felt they shouldn't have killed polkadot or Boomerang. Though do we know what happened between June and Rick? In this film it looked like they were trying to pair Rick with Harley Quinn.
Also did anyone else think that Waller was going to kill all her staff again.

Harley just liked him. I don’t think there was any romantic relationship between them.

I’ve updated my favourite DCEU list:

    MoS
    BvS
    Zack Snyder’s Justice League
    WW
    Aquaman
    Shazam
    The Suicide Squad (2021)
    WW84
    Suicide Squad
    Justice League
    Birds of Prey

I believe Black Adam with the Great One is next which should be fun. Usually I’m not a fan of villain lead comic movies but I’ll make a exception for him.

I was so excited to see this because it opens the weekend of my birthday and it was going to be the first movie seen in the theaters since the pandemic started.

Now with the surge in cases, even though I'm fully vaccinated, there's no way you'll get me in a theater.

I'd go to a drive-in if it was showing it, but the nearest one is almost two hours away and its showing Snake Eyes and the Jungle Cruise.

I'll probably end up going to my brothers and watch it on HBO Max.

I enjoyed it a lot. The third act was fantastic. The first two acts were good especially the opening part when the first team lands at Corto Maltese. I like the first movie a little more than most. That one fell apart in the third act but this one nailed it. Starro was a little two thicc for my tastes. He seemed thinner in the comics.

How was Blackguard able to sell them out? He was in prison. Weird.

I loved how so many of the Suicide Squard were just cannon fodder in the movie. That aspect was better here than in the first one.

Everything Harley was golden but she didn’t get much to do.

Ratcatcher 2 was great (definitely want to see Daniela Melichor in more stuff) She and King Shark stole the movie.

Peacemaker was a total douche. Cena was great as the douche though.

What is the after credit scene setting up? The Peacemaker series?

Also if you’re going to die then getting crushed by Margot Robbie’s thighs isn’t that bad of a way to go.

That character was way too adorable and nice to be in this group. I know that was the point but it was just odd seeing her in scenes when they are butchering everyone and she doesn’t seem fazed by it.
She seems more like someone who would be in Titans.

Polka Dot Man seeing his mother everywhere was hilarious especially when he saw Starro and it was a giant version of her.

I thought it was good bordering on great, but not perfect.

My one main complaint with the movie was it was a bit limited in "the feels." Aside from a single scene with Bloodsport and Ratchatcher 2, I didn't get anything much which was emotionally moving. I mean, I know it's meant as a gory comedy, not a drama, but Gunn did a great job mixing pathos with humor in GotG II. Everyone in the movie other than the two I noted above felt kinda like cartoon characters rather than real people.

But aside from that, the movie was genuinely funny, had some surprising twists and turns, and managed to not have a single action scene which bored the hell out of me (a rarity in superhero movies). The choice to replace the blood spatter with colorful dots and flowers during Harley's rampage was incredibly inspired.

Edit: I'm also seeing some criticism of the movie in that it didn't have a single well-developed antagonist, but I loved this portion of the movie to be honest. The obstacle to overcome wasn't "the bad guy" - it was "completing the mission." And the team as a whole had a solid character arc from a bunch of losers and psychos to a group of friends - even if only Bloodsport was given any sort of coherent personal character arc.

The first act was brilliant, funny, gory and full of action even if we saw the principle in Deadpool 2 ( build up a team only to have it almost die completely within the first minutes of action).

Second act kinda stretched a bit and were it not for Harley's prison break would have dragged down the movie completely but the third act was ball to wall ridiculous action. All considered it was a fun and entertaining movie, not something you'd expect from DC but maybe they'll listen up and continue down that road.

I saw it this morning and I loved it. It was a lot of fun, with a great mix pf action, humor, and just enough character development to make you care about the core characters. The whole cast was great, Gunn did a great job of giving everyone at least one moment to shine. Ratcatcher 2, Nanaue, and Bloodsport were my favorite new characters, with Polka Dot Man a close second.
Flag's death was the biggest shock for me. I kind of expected one of the veteran team might die, so I wasn't totally shocker Capt. Boomerang bit it, but he did die earlier than I expected. Once was dead, I had assumed Harley and Flag were safe.
My only issue is that a huge fan of all the gore, but wasn't enough to even take the rating down for me.
    I give it an A+.

Great movie. Everything was great. The gore was a bit much for me in some places but otherwise perfect movie. There was great character moments, great emotion, and a well told and well executed story. Also, the directing was great. I really liked the little touches like the words in the environment like chapter titles. And the music was great too. The movie had a lot of flair and style. .

I can see why some have described this movie as "WB gave James Gunn a bag of cocaine and lots of money and said go make a movie". Because that is what it felt like, especially the third act with Starro. That was weird and crazy in a good way.

I didn't expect them to kill Flag either, so that actually hit me in the feels. Harley realizing the Presidente was a nutball like her ex and killing him was a nice bit of character development. Capaldi was EEEEEEVIL! I'm not a fan of gore, but this was just "cartoony" enough not to bother me.

Gunn said he wanted to make Polka Dot Man a tragic figure, and he managed to do it! Not hurt by David's wonderful acting chops.

Gunn's directing really blew me away. I have no idea how he did those shots reflected in Peacemaker's helmet! I really liked the words in the environment too, @Romulan_spy.

Tons of fun, lots of laughs, things I *really* didn't expect, and then...

"I was happy in space, looking at the stars..."

    Damn.

The biggest reaction I got in my cinema was when the Thinker got angry and started swearing. People must have been thinking, “there’s the Malcolm Tucker we know.” :)

This was a great movie. Not without a few flaws (I really disliked the short section with Harley and the President until she killed him), but overall I really enjoyed it. It was funny and well written, and I'd say its easily the best DC movie in a long, long time, beating even Shazam, Aquaman and the first WW for me (and I enjoyed those movies a lot).

Even as someone who liked the first movie as a decent action movie (while also saying that it was a horrible comic adaptation), this beats in in every way possible. This movie felt like everyone involved in making it both actually like comicbook movies in general and liked the Squad itself, and Gunn's style fit perfectly. The cast were all good, both returning and new (although I'm still just ok with Robbie as Harley, she'll never be anywhere near the best version of the character for me). I was totally not expecting the opening massacre, although I should have (I definitely thought that Savant would be a major character in the movie, they did a good job throwing me off with that). My favorite characters were probably a tie between Bloodsport and Peacemaker, but I liked all of them. Capaldi was great as expected, and it was amazing getting to see Starro. The President and general were just nothing characters, but that didn't really bother me.

My favorite scene was them killing all the people in the jungle, and then learning that they were all Rebels. I actually laughed out loud at their expressions and reactions to learning about that. A close second was Waller actually getting hit upside the head with a golf club for being such a giant asshole, it was nice to see her actually get a bit of punishment for being an ass, and I loved Bloodsport's way of getting himself and his friends away from Waller.

I'd love to see more of this, although I don't know if we'll be getting a direct sequel, and that Peacemaker show is definitely a must watch for me. I voted A

We had domesticated rats off and on when I was younger, so I have to admit that kind of created a bit of a soft spot for Ratchatcher for me. Sebastian was awsome.
And don't let wild rats prejudice you, domesticated rats are great pets.
