I was messing around with more team logos today. These 2 were serendipitous in that they switched places a little.

I've been having a devil of a time sleeping, lately, so I triple-fisted melatonin, trazodone and clonidine in an attempt to get a solid eight hours of sleep.

I had a horrible nightmare that the Cubs packaged Bryant, Baez and Kimbrel to re-acquire Starlin Castro from the Nationals.

I woke up at about 2:30 a.m. with my heart racing, completely drenched in sweat.

I think maybe tonight I'll only try two medications... :shifty:

Yermin Mercedes (Whitesox catcher who appeared to announce his abrupt retirement from baseball after last night's loss to the Twins) has un-retired and is now in tonight's lineup for the Charlotte Knights. Linky

Wait...what?!

That was weird. I hadn't even heard that he "retired" midseason but at least he realized he was reacting out frustration and the heat of the moment, and has since apologized. Still weird though.

Powerful George Costanza energy, there.

You want to talk "Wait, WHAT?" moments, check this out.

There's two phrases I never expected to see in the same sentence: "Ken Harrelson" and "Hall of Fame".

Hawk? Really? What's he being honored for, being a grumpy old man?

This is old news; Harrelson was announced as being the recipient of the Frick award in December 2019. There just wasn't a ceremony last year because the world ended.

The guy is an an oversized (but strong) baby apparently. Maybe we're seeing why he's a rookie at 28?

Or he got hammered last night and sent out an Instagram that he later regretted when he woke up this morning. Or he was just in a foul mood because he hates Tony La Russa's old, racist ass. Not every rash decision has to be a sign that someone's a "baby."

But more realistically, the league figured out where to pitch him and he wasn't able to adapt, and just started swinging at everything, leading him to striking out and flying out significantly more often.

For a month and a half you're the hero of the league, then your manager hangs you out to dry when an opposing pitcher throws behind your head in a retaliatory move, then two months later you're retiring. Baseball can be a cruel mistress.

The first trade of note has come in; Nelson Cruz to the Rays for Drew Strotman. Two other players not yet named are also in the deal.

Edit: Cruz and AA pitcher Calvin Faucher to Tampa for AAA pitchers Drew Strotman and Joe Ryan.
