There is a nobility to that shuttlebay shot.

A lofty theater in the round

Ah, I saw this the other day and was going to comment on the stepping at the back of the nacelles. Glad you made it uniform :) Also, some wonkyness on the pod below that intake, but I'm sure you know about it. Keep it up!

Beautiful lines! Looks very well balanced. I think I like this even more than the original. Good job! :bolian:

    Those are amazing! b
Any chance we could get you in a talk with Ben Robinson to get the canon USS Salcombe made a model using your Art? :adore:

While my Salcombe is movie accurate in shape, I do not have references for its paint job. I'm just squinting at movie screencaps to try to figure out the paint job. It would still be better for them to contact Paramount Production dept for the references than me.

Also, since I am making a post anyway, I'll give a slight update. While my pervious Oberth nacelles were liked by many, it was also pointed out to me they are very Art Deco styled, which did not occur to me as I built them. The problem is Kelvin Timeline Enterprise is specifically designed in Neo Future style. This made me realize the Art Deco of the Oberth nacelles might clash with the rest of the Neo Future body, as well as other ships in the fleet, design wise.

So I have re-shaped the main form of the nacelles, and here is where I am now. They are only very rough shapes at the moment, but it gives a sense of the line flow.

I liked that design before but I'm kind of in love with it now

That would be ideal but the CG model's been lost.

How do you figure that? I very much doubt it.

Last year, Ben Robinson of Eaglemoss reported that the ship CGI's are gone, including the Enterprise-A.

Maybe Paramount can't track them down, but I promise you they still exist because I have seen them. I would think Double Negative would have them in their data backups anyway.

It's more likely they just don't want to go to the trouble of digging them out for Ben.

I thought that was just the 2009 fleet ships? Beyond is very recent, how could they have lost those files...

ILM still has the original 3D models from Jurassic Park, I can't imagine a modern studio losing models, especially ones they might use in a sequel.

Shit happens, and it's easy to lose data from something as simple as dropping a tape and breaking it -- which I have had done, rendering whatever data was on it functionally unrecoverable (without paying some sort of specialist, that is). Data is also only as safe as your worst practices, and not every studio is ILM-level careful.

Alright, here are the new nacelles, revising them for more neo future aesthetic over the previous art deco ones.
