MLB 2021 season: Corn-Driven Humidity

Per The Sporting News, Acuna suffered a complete tear of his ACL and will undergo surgery sometime early this coming week. He is doubtful for Opening Day in 2022 (lol there won't be a 2022 season) and his soonest return date is likely sometime in May.

As someone who ripped his ACL and MCL while pitching (one bad landing on a muddy mound), you know when you've turbofucked your knee, and Acuna looked like he knew he had just turbofucked his knee.
Out for season. Torn right ACL. Jeez, I hate that. Acuña is one of the funnest players to watch.

Pablo Lopez strikes out the first nine batters of the game. Breaks the record of eight set by Jim Deshaies, Jacob deGrom and German Marquez.

Did anyone see what happened to Chris Paddack earlier this month? Didi Gregorius tried to bunt, it went foul, so the next pitch Paddack deliberately threw up and in, which would've hit Gregrious in the face if he had tried to bunt again. So Gregrious stopped trying to bunt, and homered instead.

I don't think I saw that particular case. Some guys just get better if you throw them some chin music. Willson Contreras is like that. Throw up and in to him and he'll blast the next pitch. Even taking a 98mph fastball off the helmet didn't faze him.

The celebrity softball game replay came on after the home run derby, and holy crap, listening to the commenters is extremely painful.

He also said explicitly that he wants to ban the shift. He's doing stuff like this to try to create wedge issues that can cause cracks within the MLBPA's solidarity. Fuck off and die, you union-busting sack of shit.

Football and basketball use all kinds of formations and personnel groupings.

I don’t see why baseball should be any different.

I'm hating these bland streamlined All-Star uniforms with their respective team logos shoved in the corner.

Part of the appeal of watching the All-Star game is seeing all of these players in their own uniforms playing together. These ugly uniforms take away that magic.
