DC Movies - To Infinity and Beyond

Had this Hot Wheels as a kid and used to pretend it was the Batmobile. Probably because of the double canopy.

Well, if you were a billionaire who fought crime as a bat I'm sure you afford to have a car built that looks like the 89 Batmobile and also drives amazingly.

Who cares how the prop car drives? Its fiction. Delorean's can't actually fly, british police boxes can't travel through time/space and we don't have spaceships with warp drive. Batman is no more realistic then most superheroes when you get down to it, and I'm done with seeing film makers trying to be "realistic" with him. Batman's super power is being a billionaire who uses his money to build/buy bullshit gadgets, vehicles, etc to help him fight crime, and they need to lean into that more.

We've gotten "realistic" Batman ad nauseam at this point, and we're apparently getting more of that with the horrendous looking Pattinson Batman. I hope they let Keaton's Batman be his Batman, not try to retroactively make him into Nolan style Batman version 4.

Needs more Cavil.

I like Cavil as an actor, but I'm much happier seeing Reeve than Snyders "Superman".

Nolan's Batmobile made sense, and did not look like an impractical shell like the 1989 Burton version. Its one thing to accept a certain amount of fantasy, but for a live action character set in the present day (whether your present day was 1989 or the 2000s), audiences are not going to completely bury their natural perceptions of what might be possible and what is utterly impossible and/or ridiculous when it comes to a car design and its functions.

That must be why the 1989 Batman movie was such a flop...

Yeah. I don’t think we have had the “definitive” Batman yet.

Not live action, but we'll always have TAS (and The Brave and the Bold).

Even if you ignore many more obvious examples (Shaq, Reynolds as Hal Jordan, Seth Rogan, Jennifer Garner, etc),

Shaq sure, Rogan maybe, but I really don't blame Reynolds and Garner for their unfortunate films.

So there's a leaked video from this years DC's Fandome (happening October 2021) and it's a leaked video from the Flash movie. There's some concept art of the movie shown in the clip and if anyone wants to know what the Batmobile will look like in the movie then hit the spoiler button.

The Batmobile from the 1989 Movie

Saw some of the production art elsewhere online. Looks a lot like they may be doing a version of “Flashpoint” Superman with Calle’s Supergirl.

Also found the video. If I'm hearing Muschietti right, it sounds like he refers at one point to a "half solar-powered alien," which combined with Calle's costume and hair, would indeed strongly suggest Lara Lane-Kent (daughter of Clark and Lois), as many have speculated.

One of the things I loved about the Arkham games was that they kind of combined the two styles of Batman. The designs and tone leaned towards the grittier more grounded Nolan style, but they still managed to work in the fantastic stuff like Poison Ivy and her plants, and Clayface as a shapeshifting mud monster.

There are set photos from the Flash on social media (can't find any websites with them yet) which show the Batcave, Batmobile and Supergirl from the Flash movie. The Bat Cave looks absolutely amazing. They've pretty much recreated the cave from the 89 and Returns movie.

Do I need all of that in a The Flash movie? Nah.....

Do I need in my life though.....? F*** yeah!!!

A quick search on twitter will bring up the photos. I won't post them because it looks like a hammer is coming down on people posting it.

Miller already outshines anyone who ever portrayed the Flash in live action, and its so exciting that he will have his own couple of hours to continue to excel in the role.

Wow, someone's looking to get themselves fired with those photos. If you're close enough to take photos off the monitors while shooting is happening you shouldn't be too hard to find...

I stand very much corrected..... Earlier in this topic I said it was very unlikely they would recreate the Batmobile from the Burton movies for this.... They apparantly did. Wow.....
