DC Movies - To Infinity and Beyond

Yes she did. Grace Fulton plays the younger Mary. They look very similar so some assume it’s one actress.

I hope they give the superheroes names this time. Love it or hate, DC and WB are not going to used the name Marvel for any of these characters. For years they did in the comics but used Shazam for the comic titles and Marvel family names in the books. But they are not going to have those names on action figures. They need to finally pick something better than “Superhero Mary”!

I wish that, instead of retconning his hero name to Shazam, DC had changed it to Captain Thunder, which is what it was originally going to be before his creators settled on Captain Marvel. Granted, "Mary Thunder" doesn't have the same ring as "Mary Marvel," but it's better than "Mary Shazam," or whatever. Plus then he could say his own name without transforming.

Apparently the director confirmed that Grace Fulton plays the superhero too this time. Surprised they did not do that on first film.

I'm pretty certain that the Supergirl we're going to be seeing isn't Kara, it's Clark and Lois' daughter in whatever Universe Ezra Miller's Flash ends up in. Lara Lane Kent.

If this is a world where Keaton's Batman is still around as a man into his mid to late 60s, then Clark and Lois would also be old enough in that world to have an adult daughter.

I prefer it as a name too, but I think Roy Thomas owns the trademark to “Captain Thunder.”

So are we sure that Keaton's Batman is the Burton Batman? If so, can a Superman exist in that world as it was presented?

Why not? What's one additional fictional character added to another in a fictional universe?

Actually, wasn't he supposedly planned to cameo at Superman's funeral in the famously abandoned "Superman Lives" movie directed by Burton?

Shazam family in updated costumes.
Interestingly, it seems Grace Fulton might be playing the superhero version of Mary as well?

(Edited to adjust the actress' name, I used the wrong one. Silly me)

In pre-New 52 comics, Mary and Billy became basically their actual adult selves when they transformed, this is actually a plot point in the Elseworlds story Kingdom Come (although their transformed selves being them as adults was also generally canon in the main universe). So, it would make sense for the same actress to play both at this point. The actress is in her 20s and they'd have to just get an actress that looks like her and probably even be around the same age at this point if they wanted someone else to play superhero Mary, so they might as well just lean into it and use her for both.

And it's not like we didn't have it shown that there were other heroes on Earth-90, according to the Crisis on Infinite Earths preview segment in late 2019.

That was a year earlier, the prologue to Elseworlds in December 2018.

And Earth-90 is the universe of the 1990 The Flash. Crisis established the Tim Burton Batman's world as Earth-89, so presumably the world next door.
