I feel bad saying this, but I can't even remember anything about "Dear Doctor", and I just watched it as part of a binge of ENT last year. :alienblush:

I was going to answer your questions, but ok.
Feel free to keep talking, I'm just not going to say anymore on the subject til I get there in the list, but I'm happy to listen to new ideas, as long as we're not going in circles. I've done you guys a courtesy by watching this an extra time, and we seem to be watching 2 different episodes. So far you guys have convinced me I'm going to have to lay out a review very meticulously and spend some runtime on this one, that I legit don't seem to be seeing the way some others have.

It's for the best. To the episode's credit it sets itself up in a way that has potential, which is why I find it so lacking at the end. It's a neat little wrap up that could have just as easily had Spock say to McCoy "It would be very interesting to return in 50 years and see the results of the seed you planted." It's that dismissive of the dilemma.

I don't disagree with much on this particular video, other than I don't think Vox Sola is a bad episode for Enterprise. It's not a great episode mind you, but it gets points as being one of the only Trek episodes (post TOS) which deals with non-humanoid aliens, along with one of the only episodes besides Darmok which deals with the communications difficulties of first contact. Certainly there's tons of far worse episodes in the series, such as Precious Cargo (my single least favorite Enterprise episode - nothing good about it other than ogling at Padma Lakshmi and trying to ignore her terrible acting, or the one built around Trip being raped as being funny.

Don't forget the ENT episode "Dawn", for a better example than either you mentioned of communications difficulties. While Precious Cargo won't survive the bottom 100, I've never understood why people think it's the absolute worst episode. Yes, some bad acting and wasted filler, but objectively, I feel it has more going for it, then a lot of the bottom 100. It's forgettable Trek for sure, but has actual character development for Trip, which is something the majority of the bottom 100 lack. No exploration of human condition, and no or limited character development, or absolute absurdity.

I think Vox Sola is one of the better Enterprise episodes, shockingly.

The Fight and Move Along Home were dreadful!

So, we like cats, space jizz, and hysterical shakespeare here... Got it! Based on me saying at the end of the Vox Sola video that the ending is satisfying, I could justify moving it up a few, above the episodes that have absolutely no real plot coming up.

Was that a bridge too far? I wasn't even the one that came up with it, Allison Pregler was, and damn if it isn't an accurate description!

I love that video! Her term "Taxidermy Juice Dog" actually sort of sounds like the name of a New Orleans blues group.
I'm not sure if this one, or her one on "Encounter At Farpoint" is my favorite. Gropler Zorn as a verb and an adjective!

PSA: BACK YOUR IMPORTANT STUFF UP MULTIPLE TIMES! I had been working on this project off a Network Attached Storage drive to work on multiple computer...that just mostly died, and decided to reset itself to factory wiping away 2TB of all kinds of different personal data, movies, and music..including the master list for this project. I have a copy from before I started releasing the series, that I can mostly reconstruct the rest. But I also had the next 50 episodes worth of notes there with no backup...so I've got to watch them all again. Morale of the story:BACK YOUR IMPORTANT STUFF UP MORE THAN ONCE!

755. "Shades of Gray" (TNG) --> Agreed.
754. "And the Children Shall Lead" (TOS) --> Agreed.
753. "Catspaw" (TOS) --> Not a great episode, but I kind of like this one.
752. "Plato's Stepchildren" (TOS) --> I'm of two minds about this one. It's painful to watch, but the whole point is that it's painful to watch. Though I can't fault anyone for listing it way down there.

755. Not Spirit Folk.
754. Spirit Folk? No.
753. Surely Spirit Folk?
752. Still not Spirit Folk!?

Also, I see Who Mourns For Adonis is at 747. I mean sure - it wasn't A-grade TOS, but it wasn't dog shit either.

I just scanned over the vids on the YT channel and didn't see anything Voyager related.

It must be exempt. Odd.

Guess you totally missed episodes 5 and 6...No still not spirit folk, but after episode 5 there's a much bigger mix of series, with a ton of Voyager.

Spirit Folk rates a spot in the 600's just for the scene where Maggie turns into a cow.

The upper 600's, to be sure.
