You forgot the Big One... showing everyone's future and then deleting that future. CHECK!

The thing is though that Picard's time travel story makes even less sense than Janeway's and that's remarkable since it's usually the other way around.

At least we know what happened to some of the TNG crowd, thanks to Voyager and Picard. Only Beverly and possibly Worf are a mystery. Except for Janeway and 7, Voyager's crew is a blank.

Endgame was ok, didnt need to see a welcome on earth we knew they were home.

Maybe for me because i was never as invested in the characters in the same way i was with TNG and to a less extent DS9, so i wasnt really bothered what happened after.

I initially misread this as "E-D and an other Galaxy with the fleet towards Earth", which is of course wrong, as it was destroyed about six years earlier.

What I think you're saying is that the E-D appeared in All Good Things and the Challenger -- based on the model still having that name and registry from Timeless -- appeared in Endgame?

Agreed, there's very likely more than just the Enterprise (and Odyssey). They're basically cities in space, after all. Why have only one when they're so versatile?

Plus, we know this to be true from DS9 and seeing Starfleet battle groups for Chin'toka and retaking DS9... that one alone had at least 3 or 4 shown on screen at once.

Using them and so many other starships in battle was an appalling waste of resources, since they were designed for exploration, research, and only given weapons for defense. Say what you want about the Defiant, every aspect of her from warp core to outer hull was designed and built as an implement of destruction.

But the Dominion does research... It researches new ways to destroy us.

So did the Klingons, the Cardassuans, and probably quite a few others.

It's a wonder the federation still exists.

Galaxy class ships were very well armed, not just defensive only weapons. A ship is not 'defensive only' and carries a regular complement of 250 photon torpedoes.

It's primary purpose was exploration and research, but they can kick ass if needed. The only reason why we see a Galaxy class ship destroyed is during REALLY extreme situations. (Kamikaze run on the Odyssey, Iconian probe of death for the Yamato, Riker not actually firing back more than once for the Enterprise.) And they can take a beating, too... like the one we saw in the first battle of Chin'toka, it was taking many hits and still going while others took less and were obliterated.

(Unless you hit their starboard power coupling, then they are toast.:lol::lol: )

Can you imagine if a ship the size of a Galaxy was built purely for war? A thousand or so quantum torpedoes, with a dozen tubes instead of four. A dozen forward firing pulse phasers, and a couple dozen of the weaker but more versatile multidirectional emitters. And of course, multiple layers of ablative armor plating, heavy shields, and of course, a few heavily armed parasite craft. Not to mention a heavily armed Hazard Team, ready to beam over and take over an enemy ship/installation from the inside.

Short Treks after the finale could have addressed better send offs after the fact.

I always think of Lost: the show I heard was so good, but then heard ended so badly. Such things don't generally prevent me from even starting a series, but Lost's whole hook was the mystery.

Maybe they couldn't come up with an ending that was worthy of all the hype.
