It takes a lot for me to quit a show.

    Manifest blows.

Maybe they all die in the final?

They could have told them before the last episode(s) aired so they could adjust it.

Yeah Manifest finished season three on a huge cliffhanger, of course.

I'm not sure why we kept watching, but we did.

I think once they had a piece of Noah's Ark, it became a full-blown comedy in our eyes.

My wife and I watched the pilot to Manifest and laughed our heads off at the awful dialogue and acting. I am curious as to what the resolution is though.

Evidently, Netflix just started streaming Manifest and it is one of the top performing series on the service. And the most recent episode (now the series finale) implemented a few major changes for the Stone family.

Still trying to figure out why they felt they needed the Single White Female-esque story in the most recent season. And as a non-religious person, the Noah's Ark/religious parts of the show don't work for me. But, I was willing to see this one through to the end.

I watched season 1 before bailing at the end of that, that was enough for me.... The pilot, the lead actress was not so great, and then that end scene of the plane. Do we even know why it went "boom?"

As of the season three finale (now the series finale) we know absolutely nothing.

My wife and I have been watching it since the beginning. It had some interesting concepts, but they've really painted themselves into a similar corner that NuBSG did, with basically moving towards a "divine intervention" explanation for everything, which never produces a decent enough payout. I would have more preferred a Matrix-like "It's all a simulation" back-story to "God did it", but I guess we'll never know now...

My wife and i actually enjoyed the show...i actually liked the acting. For me, the relationships, and how they seemed genuine, is what i liked about the show. The actor who plays Cal is one of those chld actors that maintains the childlike innocence yet has an intelligence that makes for a great combo.

For me, as one who IS a Christian, the misuse of scripture, in addition to overuse of phrases, was annoying. My wife and i always rolled our eyes when they misused "All Good Things"...and even moreso, that they used the phrase practically every week... in one episode, it was like 3 different times. Most recently, the misuse by the young lady, especially Moses and Aaron...that got to me.

Also, some of the retconning they did (like forgetting that Liv had a boyfriend already)

I really would have liked to have seen where they were going with it. I hope it wasn't like Lost, where they had a really cool idea, but really had no idea what to do with it, and no origin or endgame in mind.

With the ending -- were they planning on getting rid of the actor who played Cal, or just anticipating that when they return to filming, that he would be that much older?

I would LOVE to read a coda of what would have happened.

I got into Manifest because, as my speech recognition software once put it, I like planes in time trouble! I managed to keep with the first two seasons, but the third season hasn't arrived in my country yet.

That said, I am not surprised by the cancellation, or that it ended on a cliffhanger! Indeed, when I first saw the 'death date' in 2024, I was surprised. I thought, "do they really think this show can last that long?"

I am also Christian, and I found the supernatural elements a little creepy and jarring too. I usually avoid supernatural type shows, largely because of my beliefs.

I actually got into one other show because it featured a plane crash. That was 9-1-1. Now, I know many people are complaining that traditional procedurals like that are just 'safe' shows which are allowed to go on while more original stuff is scrapped. But, I am glad I stuck with 9-1-1, which might now be my favourite drama besides the Orville! I admit it got off to a rotten start, but it has since improved no end.

The same cannot be said of Manifest, which was probably held back by its premise.

I think we gave it two, maybe three episodes. The leads weren't interesting and the writing didn't grab me to make me give it more than that.

I'm still laughing a bit at "a piece of noah's ark" really? Now we'll never know I guess where that fit into things.
