She really was, but some people seem to like that, apparently.
She may have been evil, but I'll be damned if she wasn't sexy as hell.
She clearly wanted Picard, and being the gentleman that he is, he refused. But if Kirk was in his place, you just *know* he wouldn't have hesitated to oblige to her sexual urges.
You know what though? I don't think she was 100% evil. I think there was some good within her and perhaps, in time, she would've seen the error of her ways while in whatever prison she was in. I think of her as a Loki-type of villain.
My point is, I wish we had seen a follow-up episode where she redeems herself by helping Picard somehow.
But yeah, good or evil, I would let her rule me anytime!
I actually think Kirk WOULD have refused Ardra's advances just like Picard did. Kirk might have been a horndog but he had a strong moral character. He wouldn't have been flattered by the attentions of a criminal holding a world hostage.
He refused the advances of Sylvia in "Catspaw(TOS)" even before he learned her true physical form. She attempted to seduce him and he shunned her advances at almost every turn, and even when he appeared to be giving in it was only to learn about her and gain an advantage to save himself and his ship.
Exactly.
He had no problem pawing Kelinda even if in her true form she was some kind of giant multipede.
For all the talk about Kirk being a ladies man and all, it was all the ladies who made advancements towards him. He showed incredible restraint, even saying there was one lady he loved, and that was the Enterprise.
As for Ardra, she was nice to look at, but there wasn't much there.

Kang was the original Klingon guy from Day of The Dove and Chang was the Klingon guy with an eyepatch from the film The Undiscovered Country! Okay...

The Klingons didn't talk as much of honor before TNG.
Well glory I can see in his portrayal and the honour was a later thing, but I always thought of Kor and Kang having something good about them too! Then again he did have all of those Organians executed as well didn't he and that wasn't honourable! Didn't he?

Well, Kor was personable and urbane but he didn't hesitate to kill hundreds of hostages and was totally prepared to scramble Kirk's brain if he saw it as necessary. A person's good manners do not prevent them from killing you in certain circumstances.
Not saying that Kor didn't have some potential good points but he wasn't honorable. He was ruthless, claiming right to expand by sheer might alone, willing to execute Organians if it suited his overall goal, and break Spock's mind in the name of information. The gradual peace process with the Federation clearly softened some of the Empire's most hardened warriors. Kang. Kor. And Koloth.
When Kor started losing his mind because of old age he relived his glorious days fighting the federation.
Would scrambling Kirk's brain have any effect, given that it's already pretty scrambled?
I've only skimmed this thread, but surely some one has already said hot as hell...?
