News Paramount+ head of programming McNamara leaves...should we worry?

Moonves was too busy giving no-audition jobs to his robot wife to worry about saving Trek.

The only reason we'd see less Trek is if it was not profitable.

It is primarily because of Eaves the whole "25% Myth" propagated, which works against his reliability.
The 25% different thing was real in some capacity (there's a piece concept art of the Enterprise with a note mentioning a 25% difference), but the reason why Eaves and Scott Schneider assumed it was required wasn't true. They thought it was because CBS didn't have the rights to the design, which wasn't true obviously.

The real reason for making it '25%' different has never been revealed by anyone who would actually know. Could just have been a creative choice, not wanting an exact copy of the TOS design.

In the statement CBS released after the rumour started spreading they said they didn't use the design for creative reasons, so that would line up.

And before anyone says anything, "25% different" makes complete sense and is just a cutesy way of saying "a little more different". If you want something, say "50% different" then you want it just about halfway between being completely different and the same as before. "25% different" means halfway between that and the same as before.

By saying "25% different" they wanted Eaves to make some unique changes but still be mostly the same as before. It doesn't mean anyone bought out a protractor or ran it through an imaging computer.

Yeah, there's also no real legal way to measure 25% different in art.

It’s a %
There’s two dots with a slash in the middle.

It's bad grammar. In running text (i.e. outside of tables or titles), the symbol should not be used and it should be spelled out "per cent" or "percent." And, if you need to use the symbol, you should use it correctly with tiny zeroes and not nondescript dots to signify its origin as "per cent" (per hundred).

The use of bad grammar and bad symbols means that this doesn't count, and therefore Discovery is not canon.
