Did you ever hear back from your friend?I have just asked a friend of mine on a different board about this, she is our resident horse-lady. I rode horses long ago but never on the road. Will get back to you if she has some thoughts for you.
Did you ever hear back from your friend?
I saw a couple other horseback riders after my second run in with the lady that keeps yelling at me, but I didn't get a chance to ask them. There's one other woman I've seen, and if I can get close enough, and get up the guts, I might try and ask her.
OK, thanks, and tell your friend thanks for me too. This is what she told me and I have attached a link.

Unless trained to hear a bike coming up behind they may get spooked, she tells me. They have peripheral vision at about 350 degrees and their ears can swivel too. So they are very sensitive to it.
This doesn't excuse the behavior of the riders, she told me.
It has been along time since I have saddled-up, but I have pledged that I will gallop thru the wind and slap reins once more before I hit the Dust.
OK, thanks, and tell your friend thanks for me too.

My bike's actually a pedal assist, so with the motor all the way up I can get up to about 20MPH.No, problem. Safe bicking' my friend.
I have been on a 10 speed and drafted in my day.
It is almost as much Fun as a full gallop on a horse.
