I'm watching right now the first episode and, even if it has a YA vibe, I'm quite liking it :)

I've only seen the first episode so far, and I enjoyed it. Plan on continuing with the rest.

I've watched the first episode and part of the second, and I'm liking it a lot so far. It's definitely made me want to check out the books.

Wow! I doubt that even the Israel Defense Forces has a similar Male/Female balanced ratio

Seems like most of the female soldiers we have seen are either cartographers or Grisha. I did not see many who were part of the regular infantry.

You know, you have a point. In any case, it is clear that they have no problem sending women to the front lines, something until a few years ago many nations were reluctant to do.

I just finished watching the 1st season. It was good. It was different yet interesting.

I can't wait to see the people and customs of Shu next season.

The guy playing as the Darkling is the same guy who played Prince Caspian in the Chronicles of Narnia movies.

4 episodes in and i'm curious - it has some intriguing moments and concepts, enough to get me hooked and keep watching, because othweise i had my fill of YA adventure movies and shows.

Some of the characters being young people seems random. Kaz in particular, as leader of the Dregs, would work much better as someone 40ish.

I chalk it up to it being a YA show - many of the characters in the entire genre are usually a bit too young.

Finished the show and it was entertaining enough - 8 episodes is a good fit for the show. Production value was very high, effects too so it seems Netflix poured some decent money into the project. Plot was a bit predictable though but then again i'm not expecting Nolan level twists and writing.

I will be returning for season 2, which is all Netflix can ask for.

If it weren't for the king and queen, one might think this is the fantasy version of "Logan's Run" where people get killed after a certain age. Everyone. Is. So. Young.

Shadow and Bone had like almost every significant plot point be visible from miles away. The tropes in the show were blatant and obvious. One of the more irritating things was that 'travel' was like non-existent. Characters would like head somewhere, maybe get ONE SCENE showing a bit of traveling and then poof they were there. There was none of that Game Of Thrones type feel. I get it being one of those 'Young Adult' novel type things and I give the show(not sure what the novel is like) credit for not being a YA novel with a female lead who develops a massive MALE HAREM that follows and worships her as a kind of wish fulfillment for female readers.

The actors weren't bad. The best character was probably someone who wasn't even part of the actual storylines
The female caster who was taken as a slave and the whole plotline was a big TROPE of enemies falling for each year garbage, but the actress and character's attitude was actually good.

The female lead was pretty decent, the male lead(the unpowered one) was boring beyond belief. Felt like if you threw a boy band member into a show or something. Maybe it's the way the character was written, I dunno.

Everything felt extremely rushed... another nitpick is the spellcasting (or rather the AMOUNT of spellcasting) was awful. I actually liked the effects, but they were used WAY TOO INFREQUENTLY. If Amazon did this with the Wheel Of Time magic I would just not even watch beyond a few episodes.

I watched most of the first episode this afternoon because I was bored. It seems pretty good in terms of acting and production and everything, but it feels so rushed. They don't establish ANYTHING before jumping to another location or inserting a random flashback (at one point i had no idea if I was watching present day or flashback.) Obviously I should at least watch the full episode before judging, it just annoyed me.

I finished watching it yesterday, and I enjoyed it. It didn't totally blow me away, but I liked and will definitely keep up with future seasons.
Took some interesting twists and turns.
Definitely did not see the big reveal with Kirigan coming.
Looking forward to seeing where they things go next.

I did finish the season. It was okay. Ben Barnes plays a good bastard.

I don't love the main storyline but I'd be down for the Crows to get their own series.

Yeah, that's my take on it, too. The main storyline with the Grisha is fine, I don't dislike any of the characters (except Mal is awfully boring), but I could watch a whole show just about the Crows. They're so much more compelling.
