I preferred the Chef idea. Bill as Chef as Kirk in an ‘unseen’ event

That Trekified version of Dave starring Shatner as Chef who just happened to look exactly like Kirk and be recruited to "be" Kirk for an important moment (which I'm sure I once read was the speech at the end of STVI) might have been a lot of fun

To each his own. I hated the idea. I wasn't hot on the Mirror universe Kirk either. I wanted Kirk Kirk, no chef, no mirror. Our Kirk.

And that’s why I love the trailer, Sharnerverse and Orcis idea

Shatnerverse is sufficient. Shatner returning would be...uninspired.

The Gigantic Mega-Crossover will happen in 2026, for the 60th Anniversary.

I feel pretty safe in making this call.

I think it's also worth noting that our favorite EP, Alex Kurtzman, was (supposed to be) the architect of the whole Dark Universe/Universal Monsters revival a few years back. Universe building to bring about a massive crossover project is his thing.

With Chabon out (as showrunner), STPicard is more free to pursue fun little projects like this and can be on the forefront of a crossover project if need be. Discovery probably ought to solidify itself a little in their century, but it will be fun seeing them reunited (if only briefly) with their 23rd century friends.

The animated ones might be left out, or be part only in easter eggs or cameos. Or have their own crossover special (they could even use the holodeck for crossover cast from SNW and Discovery).

They're the same universe. Punk on the bus in Star Trek 4 was Punk on the street in Spider-man: Homecoming so what was thought to be two separate universes is actually one united universe. (How that can be is a whole other question.)

    Couple possibilities:
    - The Punk is the "same person" in so much as he is a parallel universe (MCU) version of the Star Trek universe version. Punk on Street may or may not have been Vulcan nerve pinched in his youth. The MCU is quickly delving into their own Multiverse, and the Star Trek universes may be their own thing, where Nick Fury fought in the Eugenics Wars and superheroes never rose up due to the lack of an Iraq War (in the 2000s) or something. How to consolidate Marvel Cosmology with Star Trek's is the biggest concern, as I don't think we can assume all of the MCU adventures take place out of the Galaxy (the simplest solution).

    - Kirk and co. did not actually travel to their own 1980s, they traveled across space and time to a (duplicated?) Earth in a much different galaxy (to account for the cosmos differences). Star Trek IV is the first movie (partially) set in the MCU, even though it begins and ends in the STU. Scotty giving away the formula for transparent aluminum is no big deal, since he's out of his universe and SHIELD probably already has that stuff at the Triskelion thanks to Howard Stark and Hank Pym.

The universes are grossly incompatible the more I think of them. Perhaps, maybe, the Whale Probe was somehow involved in sending the Enterprise (during their LSD trip) back in time through the Land of Fiction. Or maybe Kirk and co. we're all just hallucinating based on the movies (which the Probe, picking up Earth signals, was deeply familiar with), and the whales were just replicated for them.

Also this gem, albeit a fan made trailer.

I may or may not have been obsessed with this since it hit the internet and count this story as my canon.

I would LOVE it if the different Trek shows cross pollenated the way Marvel and Star Wars did.

Picard definitely knows what happened to Discovery from hosting Sarek's emotions, and I really hope the currently writers realize that.

Honestly, current Trek needs to be less epicer, not more.

    Yeah.

If everything is epic, then nothing is.

Somebody should remind DC Comics of that.

So they'd cut it out with these massive universe-shattering "crisis" mega-events that they put out like EVERY TWO FUCKING WEEKS so that DC literally has no permanent continuity anymore.

Not that I am bitter or anything. :sigh:
