I guess it can't be a time displacement episode without a dinosaur and a centurion. ;)

Keep forgetting to mention this week after week until now -

Anyone else recognize the actor in those Old Spice ads? It’s Wally West/Kid Flash actor Keiynan Lonsdale. Originally he looked familiar but could not place who it was. Apparently it a whole series of ads the first started during the Super Bowl. It’s very possible he is making more for these ads than he ever did on the show. He left the show on good terms to allow him to explore new options. Both professionally and personal. Which is why he still makes occasional guest appearances on the show.

I think I saw it multiple times before it even occurred to look up if it was him. One of those is even playing in theaters before movies.

Then again, the 30-second skip button is one of the reasons I keep paying the cable bill and I do abuse the heck of that so I don't know how many times I've seen the ad.

Have they been playing that during The Flash? That would be good synergy.

It has been playing during the Flash. I probably saw it a few times other places before the season started. I think it’s been shown every episode since the premiere. That’s when I made the connection.

I'm a fan of the Caitlin/Frost dynamic, so I really liked this episode. There were a few cliche things here that I wish they would stop doing, like the slow down during the action scenes or Frost walking towards CCPD, and Chillblane is a terrible name, but other than that this is probably my second favorite episode of the season after episode 2.

The bar scene where Chillblane takes his shirt off with the slow mo close up of his ripped body and Frost staring was super cliche and on the nose as well. They even play the song "it's getting hot in here". Yeah, we get it, Frost thinks Chillblane is hot. It had me laughing out loud.

But it was a good episode. I liked Frost a lot. I also like the potential between Barry and "Nora". Having the Speed Force take human form, especially one that looks like Barry's dead mom, is interesting.

They've really nerfed Frost's powers since she became a good guy. She used to be able to create huge walls of ice in a matter of seconds; now she's just creating puffs of condensation in the air. I get her dialing down her attacks to be less lethal (though she was never lethal before), but it should've been far easier for her to take out the bad guy here.

Still, I complained a week or two ago about the Arrowverse's tendency to let its protagonists get away with literal murder as long as they promise not to do it again, so it was a refreshing change to see Frost actually admitting that that isn't enough -- that to be a real champion of justice, you have to take responsibility for your own misdeeds.

While I'm liking the season ok so far, I really can't stand this Frost plot. I never want to see another trial/imprisonment plot from the Arrowverse ever again, they've gone to that well too many times. Frost never killed anyone, and it was very random for her to just become a target. I really hope this subplot wraps up in an episode or two, and isn't a whole half/full season spanning subplot, that would be terrible.

The stuff with the various "forces" is decent (outside of that horrible time travel episode), and I'd much rather them focus on that then the terrible Frost being arrested plot.

Also, is anyone else completely uninterested in Chester? He's really just a mediocre version of Cisco, at least in my opinion. At best he's just forgettable, at worst he's annoying and a waste of screen time. He's not at the level where he ruins an episode for me (except for the time travel episode, but that would probably have been bad even without him), but to me he's easily the least compelling main cast member this season (and probably the second worst after Ralph, who we'll luckily never have to see again anyway, at least not in his old form).

I was running through DC's ice villains as the episode progressed. Chillblaine crossed my mind before Mark gave himself the name. Had Mark pegged as the badguy from the start.

Me too. As soon as he showed off his interest in science and his familiarity with (Killer) Frost, it was kind of a giveaway.

Plus, if there's only one major guest star, of course he's the villain of the week.

No, that's where there are multiple guest suspects, but the most famous actor among them is the killer. I'm talking about the rule that usually applies in series that aren't normally murder mysteries -- there's only one significant guest at all, so they're the bad guy by default.

Had to happen eventually. I'm still surprised they've managed to hold onto six of their original cast members after so many years. That's a record. Black Lightning is the only other one that comes close; in four seasons, it's lost only two of its original main cast members, and only one of its original main characters (the other was recast).

That is my thinking too. Fans of both but it’s seems time. They have struggled to develop both characters while part of Team Flash. Alternate Wells each year has got played out. Cisco’s identity and role has been all over the place. Superhero or without powers. Back and forth.

I can understand why Valdez is leaving, but the problem is, they're obviously setting up Chester to replace him, and I just don't find him as engaging.

Having now watched the newest episode ("The People v. Killer Frost"): Caitlin talks about Frost being her sister, but the way they have acted towards each other the past few weeks, am I the only one that thinks Caitlin is actually in love with Frost?
