Things that frustrate us all

grrr, I have a sort of anxiety cold turkey: minor fits that occur without a trigger. Most annoying as I have only 2 sessions left with my therapist.

I'm all for the vaccine (I get my second shot next week) but I'm not sure I like the idea of 'vaccine passports'.

Sounds a little too much like...

"Your papers, please."

No more so than any other vaccination protocol. Many schools require a certificate of immunization to enroll your child in school. This is just more of the same.

In other words, if you want on my fucking plane, you better be fucking vaccinated.

News sites that automatically start playing a very distracting video that has nothing to do with the article that you're trying to read. :brickwall:

In that area: wikki adds. Memory Alpha's adds are a huge pain: just when I think it's done loading them and it's safe to click on a link, the whole page gets pushed down an inch for a banner add.

As long as it's limited to non-essential services (like air travel), and the cards themselves can be easily replaced if lost, stolen or damaged, I guess I'm OK with it.

That said, I know one thing...if my store tried anything like this, we'd get shot down in a cold minute. Hell, we have enough trouble getting customers to wear MASKS...

Going to a store for one or two items but the store has only one register open and the people ahead of you in line have 237 items each. Typical of the local Aldi.

Word. That reminds me of Youtube ads, as in ones that are anywhere from over 20 to 30 minutes long. And no, I'm not joking. :wtf:

it's Murphy day again: phone malfunction at work, electric lab door blocked, got a mean belly ache, it's raining and I forgot my lunch at home. On days like these I should stay in bed but with my luck, the bed would break.

Saw a truck with a bumper sticker that said (obviously a joke) "Practice Socialist Distancing".

Give me a fucking break. It's not socialism, it's basic human decency and good health.

Oh, and if I hear one more time about some meth-head in-bred shit-hook bar owner who openly flaunts the covid restrictions...

today, a court case started against a 21 year old guy who has already spent months in prison for constantly and deliberately violating social distance and mask rules. He'll indubitably go back into prison but the fact that he exists at all will be oil on the flames of the corona-deniers and racists (he happens to be Syrian by birth).
Does this idiot not realize that he damages the very society he came here wanting to protect him? What this world needs is a virus that creates common sense and community sense in people! *darts back to lab to create CommonA-Virus*

Bad drivers frustrate me. Today I was behind a driver going about 8 mph in a residential area. We reached a roundabout and she starts to go to the left side of it. Not the way you're supposed to use a roundabout but that's what a lot of people do when they want to turn left and no one else is coming, so no big deal. As I'm going around it on the right side, she doesn't actually turn left and instead continues forward! So I have to brake and let her pass so she doesn't hit me. She never even noticed me. Then we reach the stop sign at a main street and she signals left, only she goes right.

Sounds like you encountered someone from a *literal* mirror universe...

Bugs in Windows 10 updates. :klingon: :brickwall:

What did Microsoft do now?

Just patched some Ps3 games today due to hearing about some issues that people are having with doing so. It can be a bit of a pain, but thankfully it wasn't.

Been noticing my WiiU gamepad screen tearing at times while playing BOTW and a Mario game I have. Wiping the game disc helps a bit, but I'm thinking it might be interference/ a weak Wifi signal, since it's still happening a bit.

Definitely thinking it's the latter, since my Wifi signal went from 2 to 4 then to 3 bars. It's just wonky tonight.

I don't get the whole thing against vocalizing while working out. Probably not helpful if you're doing something that isn't particularly strenuous, but if you are pushing or pulling heavy weight, or forcing out extra reps beyond your "normal" range, then it definitely helps focus your physical exertion. In the martial arts there's something similar called "ki-ai" that you are expected to do. If I'm deadlifting 400+ pounds, then I am not going to do it quietly. The only way I can physically do it is if I let out a grunt.

The difference in that analogy is that if you can't produce papers you aren't hauled off to a prison camp, you're just denied access to a private business, and then allowed back in if you just go through the simple step of getting a needle in your arm.

I doubt anyone is going to do it anyway except colleges, airlines, and maybe a handful of small workplaces that specifically have an immune compromised person working there. Restaurants and bars will *never* just close their doors to 30% of their customers.

I don't personally see a problem with grunting at the gym, but some people perceive it as purposeful intimidation and/or fitness exhibitionism. The same people the Planet Fitness ads are targeting. Showing off your superior ability to pick things up and put them down to make others feel weak.
