I was not enthused about a return of Q from those fans calling for it.

But for one episode or two, having Picard confronting his new state of being, in a way no other character could do.

Factor in a possibly heart to heart with Guinan, and the past history between Guinan's people and the Q...

Q, for me, was great in the beginning, then had diminishing returns. If they return to initial form with him and do it right, I'm fine with it. I just hope he's not a regular, as that would take time away from characters I'm more interested in.

    I welcome an appearance from
possibly Avery Brooks as Sisko if that Bajoran tablet in the trailer is anything to go by.
Didn't Patrick publicly ask Whoopi to be part of Season 2?
Are we finally going to find out what's behind Q and Guinan's feud? Are they going to fight while Picard and the gang watch and eat popcorn?

As to your second "spoiler" (?), that'd be fun, but I think Sir Patrick mentioned Q would turn up when Picard was quite down, so... no idea.

And yes, he publicly asked her and she agreed.

I'm not Suprised about John Delancie returning as Q. I'm so happy that Orla Brady is coming back for season 2 this is great news!:beer::bolian:

I would have predicted that Q appearing had a 1% chance of happening, so I'm very surprised.

So since it is happening I hope for a couple of things:

    1. It appears time travel is a big part of season 2, and i hope we get to see things we've heard about, but never seen.

    2. Q, as I've said before is best in small doses. He needs to have some limitations or checks and balances, either from himself or the Continuum from being too powerful and wrecking the believability of stories where literally anything could happen.

I most enjoy Q when he's in his trickster role - the antagonist hiding knowledge in his back pocket a la "Q Who", "Tapestry", and "All Good Things..." And I hope/suspect that's what we're getting here with the mention of humanity still being on trial.

To add to the hopes and predictions: I hope Q offers to put Picard back in his old body and gets turned down, either to make canon Chabon's footnote about Picard putting his money where his mouth is re: the value of artificial life, or just because he'd prefer life as a Soong-model AI to being in debt to Q. Just something that makes the whole synth transfer business a choice - I can easily live with Picard in the android body, but the lack of agency and his feelings on it need to be addressed at some point.

According to Trekmovie besides the time travel story elements. There is going to be a season 2 show more of how Picard is dealing with when he was assimilated by the borg .It was an idea Jonathan Frakes discussed with Patrick Stewart. And will be a season 2 story they mentioned in one of the Star trek First Contact day videos I watched on Youtube yesterday.

Hasn't this been done a gazillion times already? I love Best of Both Worlds and First Contact as much as anyone, but I just don't see where else they can go with this. If they have to bring the Borg back, I'd rather see them in Discovery to be honest.

I thought they'd be through with the Borg after season one but I was suprised they're bringing it back for Season 2.To be honest I thought the tv writers would be moving on to other story ideas for Picard season 2 .

Especially since Picard's now in a full android body, he literally has no physical repercussions from his Borg time at all. We got the sense in First Contact, since he could still hear them, that Starfleet medical didn't remove all the Borg gizmos from his system. As it is now, I find it highly unlikely that this Borg stuff would have been transferred into his new android body to be honest.

As for Picard's mental trauma, I mean, as long as he steers clear of any Borg he shouldn't be handling it any worse than the last 30 years.

If anyone's going to be traumatized, it would be Agnes Jurati after Oh basically brainwashed her into murdering Maddox.

On the other hand, finding himself in a fully synthetic body might serve as a psychological trigger to his assimilation issues.
