What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

Well I would say that any good fantasy and/or science fiction story does need grounding elements and a degree of "realism" to work. Any story does.
I know that's not what you meant though ;)
And as I wrote that I knew that would be brought up :guffaw:

I get that things are to be somewhat realistic, which is why Trek usually got buy with not explaining everything. But, now, it seems fans want everything explained.

I have some downtime, so now's my chance to answer the question some people probably have. "How can you be such a TOS Fan and still be okay with the changes DSC made and SNW will make?"

Simple. I've said it a few times before: I'm one of those fans who subscribes to the Three Timeline Theory.

I call them:
The Classic Timeline
The Prime Timeline
The Kelvin Timeline

I believe the guy who played Romeo onstage in 1597 should be the only Romeo.

The only true Romeo is the Soviet submarine class. Get with program, Comrade Digits, or informants will tell glorious KGB about your misconduct.

The only canonical Spock is Beastie Boys video Spock.

Yet they're IN the Kelvin Timeline, which means in all likelihood are also in the Prime Timeline! That makes them a band that mentions Star Trek in a universe where Star Trek is a separate thing and an historical reality. 10-year-old James T. Kirk listened to songs referencing himself from another timeline.

I've gone cross-eyed.
