Spoilers NO SPOILERS FOR CODA - A Lit-verse Grand Finale...What We Know (Spoilers for Entire Lit-verse)

Yeah I’d been assuming an in universe reset wouldn’t possibly go back any farther than Nemesis. That has the added interesting point that all the novels from the end of the Dominion War to Nemesis stay intact according to this interpretation. But that leaves the potentially for future contradictions, as Jinn says. A double edged sword that.

At least the ENT and TOS novels will be unaffected

I don’t see how Strange New Worlds will ruin TOS

"Ruin" is a silly word for it, of course, but there's always the chance that it could contradict continuity established in things like Vanguard or my TOS novels. For one example, I showed Kirk and Spock meeting for the first time in The Captain's Oath, which would be contradicted if SNW does a story featuring young Kirk. (Although I hope they don't, since "The Menagerie" said Kirk and Pike only met once when Kirk took over the Enterprise. But they could have him meet Spock without meeting Pike.)

Actually the exchange is,

"Ever met Chris Pike?"

"When he was promoted to Fleet Captain"

Nothing specifically to say he didn't then stick around for 4 seasons. It goes against the spirit of what was said but not the specific wording.

Sorry. Wreck havoc on then

Disagree with. It's not a disaster or a destructive act, merely an alternative work of make-believe. Our books wouldn't be consistent with canon anymore, but that's the lot of any tie-in. It's happened many times before with books like The Final Reflection and Federation, and people still love those books. Nothing gets thrown away or lost forever, since it's all imaginary anyway.

Are the "A Time To..." series of TNG novels a good jumping-in point for the litverse?
I have also found this site to be very useful: https://startreklitverse.com/
(I've been reading litverse stories since 2015 but have only gotten through about 25% of the books on my 300+ book reading list... Looking forward to "Coda" but it will be many years yet before I get to that point.)

I'm halfway through A Singular Destiny right now. I have roughly 50 books to go before I get to Coda. Gonna be a fun ride.

Relax. I was messing around. I know it’s not real. I’m just not a fan of the new continuity
