THERE’S A CROWDFUNDING CAMPAIGN TO SEND A FLAT-EARTHER TO SPACE
"THEY CALL ASTRONAUTS ACTORS WHO ARE PAID TO LIE AND THAT BOILS MY BLOOD."

https://futurism.com/the-byte/crowdfunding-campaign-send-flat-earther-space

any way lets send the whole lot into the sun, can we?

Depending on the flat-earther, they'd still find a way to claim the Earth was flat (Video screens instead of Windows) or other flat Earthers would claim that the person sent up was a plant/another actor.

You can't tell some people, you have to show them.
Yes, but educating one deluded fringe-ster such as a flat earther isn't worth the price. Fool and his money, etc. As far as the crowdfunding crowd is concerned, it's their money, although we'll all pay the price in terms of pollution put out by the launch, of course.

Send a camera with him. Send two. One to record the view outside, the other to record his face going "OMG, it's true!"

The debate has been going on for some time...

The problem with sending the Flat Earther into space is that he'll just claim he was not actually looking through a window, but in fact, looking at a hologram show.

I want to know why these Flat Earthers aren't trying to send expeditions to Antarctica or something to find the edge. You can go up in a rocket but you're afraid of a little cold?

Hence the term "average". It's like that famous line by Mike "Butt-head" Judge: "I like stuff that's cool."

If over 50% of the population were below average, wouldn't the remaining people have to be above average to even it out? So where do the people who fall in the middle fit? ;)

True. Each can be thrown off by outliers, though I think the mean is the less vulnerable of the two.

Well now, I guess I've kicked off something here.

If over 50% of the population were below average, wouldn't the remaining people have to be above average to even it out? So where do the people who fall in the middle fit? ;)

Behold the bell curve.

Most people, about two thirds, aren't really all that far away from each other with respect to brain power

For every super smart Sheldon Cooper type, you typically also get one flat-earther.
