Discovery Season Four: Predictions, Speculation & Off The Wall Theories

Thank you for pointing out the obvious flaws in these scenarios. Maybe replace them with this:

Grudge the cat gets lost in Discovery's turboshafts. Realizing the search could take decades, Burnham makes a very emotional appeal to Book (complete with tears and hugging) to cut his losses and get a new cat. But Book never gives up, and there's a 1 minute scene in every episode for the next eight seasons of Book wandering through the turboshafts looking for the cat. Eventually, he finds the cat and there is a very touching reunion scene.
I already hate this show.

I'll be surprised since they tried cute and cuddly and just let it go.
My point was that Star Trek has been chasing whatever's popular at the moment for awhile.

When production started on Discovery, Game of Thrones was all the rage, so they wanted Star Trek to be more like it. It influenced Picard aswell IMO.

With Star Trek Beyond they wanted to emulate elements of Guardians of The Galaxy.

Now what's the big popular thing? The Mandalorian. So they'll take elements of that as well.

The only reason S3 didn't have Mando influences yet is because when production started Mando was a huge hit yet.

This wouldn't be a bad thing for the action scenes.

So, they will pursue what the market demands?

I don't see any of what you're saying here.

My point still stands.

that post was mostly tongue in cheek. My biggest issue with Burnham is that she is often either on the verge of tears or sobbing uncontrollably. Other than that I don’t really have a problem with her character.

Fair enough, maybe I read a little too much into it.

And that’s just SMG’s acting style, which I don’t mind at all but it certainly doesn’t work for everyone.

Why do you assume that it's Sonequa's doing and not just what the directors are telling her to do?

I like Burnham, but I do hope that now that she's finally captain the focus will shift to Owo, Detmer, Rhys, Bryce, and Nilsson, all of who need more screentime. As I've noted, in past Trek the captains were not the center of every episode. There were tons of episodes were, say, Sisko was hardly involved.
