Haven't done what? Been influenced by The Mandalorian? Or chased whatever's popular?

My point was that Star Trek has been chasing whatever's popular at the moment for awhile.

When production started on Discovery, Game of Thrones was all the rage, so they wanted Star Trek to be more like it. It influenced Picard aswell IMO.

With Star Trek Beyond they wanted to emulate elements of Guardians of The Galaxy.

Now what's the big popular thing? The Mandalorian. So they'll take elements of that as well.

The only reason S3 didn't have Mando influences yet is because when production started Mando was a huge hit yet.

This wouldn't be a bad thing for the action scenes.

So, they will pursue what the market demands?

Given responses in various threads I am confident in saying I definitely am watching a completely different show than others.

Burnham is perfect and can do no wrong, in a show that began with a string of fuckups bad enough to start a war and get her sent to prison.

    I don’t get it either.

Thank you for your feedback, I have revised accordingly: "This is Burnham's second failure in the entire show which causes her to reflect that she's not perfect and can't do it all."

that post was mostly tongue in cheek. My biggest issue with Burnham is that she is often either on the verge of tears or sobbing uncontrollably. Other than that I don’t really have a problem with her character.

Fair enough, maybe I read a little too much into it.

And that’s just SMG’s acting style, which I don’t mind at all but it certainly doesn’t work for everyone.

Why do you assume that it's Sonequa's doing and not just what the directors are telling her to do?

I like Burnham, but I do hope that now that she's finally captain the focus will shift to Owo, Detmer, Rhys, Bryce, and Nilsson, all of who need more screentime. As I've noted, in past Trek the captains were not the center of every episode. There were tons of episodes were, say, Sisko was hardly involved.

But, I don't want past Trek recycled again.

Every director the show has had????? Pretty sure it's an acting choice. She's a crier in real life too.

Honestly I’m just glad Star Trek has grown past the point where the central conflict of the episode would be resolved by reversing the polarity of the graviton field emitter and channeling it through the deflector dish.

I thought only Doctor Who did that.
