https://www.facebook.com/officialjmspage/posts/252956932875916 Was talked about in the B5 thread, but deserves its own thread. Mira Furlan, Delen of Babylon 5, has passed away at 65. According to JMS, was sick for a time before. This show seems to be a Red Flag of Death, way to many have passed away earlier than they should have. Rip, Strong woman, playing a strong woman character.
This breaks my heart. I might not have been the biggest Delenn fan but I always loved her fiery performance. She brought that same fire to the screen when she was on LOST. I loved JMS' tribute and this part in particular stood out: “What’s the worst that could have happened? Yes, they could have killed me. So what? Art should have no borders.” - Mira to Joe regarding how she toured with a theater group that continued to travel during the Yugoslavia civil war Rest in peace, Mira. Your fiery presence will be greatly missed.
This is heartbreaking. Always loved her performances, was a big fan of Delenn as well...B5 is the only sci-fi series that I have seen several times. Sleep easy in the light Mira.
This is really sad. R.I.P., ambassador. Counting the cast of The Gathering, we're sadly down to the following cast members who were with the series from its inception: * Tamilyn Tomita (Laurel Takashima) * Patricia Tallman (Lyta Alexander) * Jeffrey Willerth (Kosh suit actor) * Ardwight Chamberlain (Kosh voice actor) * Claudia Christian (Susan Ivanova) * Andrea Thompson (Talia Winters) * Bill Mumy (Lennier) * Caitlyn Brown (Na'Toth) * Peter Jurasik (Londo Mollari)
I'm very sad to hear this, I was a big fan of both Delen on Babylon 5, and Danielle Rousseau on Lost.
Bruce Boxleitner (John Sheridan) is thankfully also still alive. Granted, he didn't appear until season 2, but neither Andrea Thompson, Claudia Christian, nor Bill Mumy appeared in The Gathering. See you beyond the Rim, Ambassador. RIP Mira Furlan
I was never a big B5 fan, but her character Delenn was great and she played the character well. 65 is also still way too $#@! young in this day and age. RIP and condolences to her family and friends.
Still no words for this. Still gutted. Her words - her epitaph - are wonderful. Requiescat in pace. In memory ever bright.
I was listing only the surviving cast members from The Gathering and Season 1 because of the poster I quoted using the term "original cast".
