News Superman & Lois Ordered to Series at The CW

6.1 on IMDb, proof that it's widely hated. That's super low for a tv show. That's the second lowest for cw behind the show almost universally declared the worst tv show off all time batwoman.
Actually, it's more likely proof that the Internet is a cesspool of racists, misogynists, and homophobes. Batwoman is a solid show as well, and hardly "almost universally declared the worst tv show off [sic] all time" -- unless you're only counting the bigot fanboy vote.
And sadly, the fact that the show is focused on black characters, has gay characters, and women in lead action roles is also going to take the ratings down some thanks to all of the racists, homophobes, and sexists out there.
Ding ding ding!

Wrote my post before reading JD's, but yeah, he's (unfortunately) on the money. It's review-bombing by the dregs of humanity. In the case of Batwoman, it was practically an organized campaign.

I liked Black Lightning, especially the eldest daughter. She was gorgeous. Haven’t watched season 3 yet though.

One of his kids will turn on him I bet. Probably siding with Luthor

I imagined that could be a plotline, only I would prefer the kid to turn due to his own free will, not be a dull, easily manipulated Anakin kind of character. I would like to see real arguments about the reason(s) why he supports Luthor. That could be part of a season arc, along with Luthor using the kids powers for his own needs, as one might expect from him.

Black Lightning is heavily focused on its core family group, and it’s the best damn thing The CW has ever aired in the genre.
So that's why it's going to end up having the shortest run of any CW superhero series to date. Canceled after it's 4th season.

I liked it but I don't think it had any more or less family drama than either Arrow, or The Flash. My issue with a lot of the storyline was just the ridiculous fact that they had a foreign country invading the U.S.; yet really no one but Black Lightning, and a clandestine secret U.S. agency was really doing anything about it. Even for a comic book type story that really stretched incredulity for me.

I said that it was a great show, not that it was a popular one. One often has little to do with the other.

If Superman & Lois gets four seasons of the consistently stellar quality of BL, I'll be delighted.

Black Lighting is a great show but much like Crazy Ex Girlfriend it's almost to good for CW and one of the reasons why it doesn't get the ratings it deserves IMO. That's because it's not just for youngsters.

The US. has active foreign and domestic terror cells operating between its borders right now, whether the cell is of the leaderless resistance type or part of a larger group. Law enforcement has admitted (post Murrah Federal Building, 9/11 and the launching of Homeland Security) that its still difficult to know how many (and sizes) are in the U.S., much less knowing how many active plots are in motion. If that can go on in real life, I have no trouble believing a secret group protecting something as hyper-sensitive as metahuman research / weaponization infiltrated the country right under law enforcement's nose.

No, its not specifically made for kids, but responsible parents who are intelligent enough to break down the sociopolitical subjects can allow a child to have a better understanding, and possibly earn (or earned before the idea of cancellation became reality) a larger fanbase.

News has been thin on the ground the past couple of weeks, but Bitsie Tulloch posted this on her Twitter and Instagram

with the simple comment, "Next month."

Does anyone know if there are broadcast details for Canada yet?

Had a look but either there's nothing or my google-fu failed.

Used to have the option to add the CW to my cable package but not anymore.

I would guess CTV Sci-Fi (where Legends is), Showcase (Batwoman and Supergirl), or Netflix (Flash and Black Lightning). My best guess would be Showcase.

I hate that they're all split up like that in Canada. I have CW, so I'm good, but it must have been hell watching the Crossover last season.

What channel does Stargirl air on?

It didn’t. I bought it on Blu-ray (not very expensive, certainly under 20$).

So apparently this bug appeared during the season premiere of Batwoman last night:

All previous reports have been that Superman & Lois will have a one-hour series premiere on February 23 at 9 EST, following the season premiere of The Flash. Not clear yet if plans have changed, or if somebody just screwed up this promo graphic. (Guess the "2-hour premiere event" could refer to Flash and S&L combined, but if so, it's a confusing blurb at best.)

There was also a voice over after the episode saying the same thing.

Huh. Curiouser and curiouser.

As much as I would be up for a two-hour Superman & Lois feast that first night, I'm frankly not sure this is the best idea (if true). The Flash remains The CW's highest rated show, and S&L's premiere might well benefit from its lead-in. OTOH, maybe the execs got excited over the S&L footage they were seeing, and decided to give it a bigger, splashier standalone debut? We shall see.
