Spoilers General Disco Chat Thread

One minor detail that seems odd to me.

Why do 23rd century humans know so much about Bajorans? Maybe the Federation had a relationship with Bajor before the Occupation but the fact they are considered 'Deep space' makes me think they shouldn't yet.

Do they mention Bajor in the show?
I did think they looked like they knew too much about Romulans though

There were some references to Bajoran cooking, and when Hugh appeared as Bajoran in the holoprogram, he was immediately recognized as such.
Ah ya you are right about Hugh. Maybe they had some contact I dont think DS9 ever said they definitely didnt.

Was the hasperat line a communication from DS9 ?

I can't stand The Crittical Drinker, and where the fuck do these people get their channel names? eek
Major Grin too has become a bit annoying, not that I watched his channel much.
He's not just pointing out mistakes, he also points out where things fit:

Burham and Book talk about the Bajoran Exchange, so, obviously, Burnham knows what Bajorans look like.

Sure, she did stuff off-screen for one year. That's a lot of time to get acquainted with the 32nd century. She could have read the logs of Kirk, Picard, Sisko, and Janeway for all we know.

Just had a sudden realization that we're not getting any new Star Trek episode tonight/tomorrow. Kind of bummed at that... wonder when S2 of Lower Decks will be ready to air now?

Um, what? The question was how does the Discovery crew know what Bajorans look like. The whole crew may not know. But Burnham does because she's been to the Bajoran Exchange in the 32nd century.

This is said in the freaking dialog.

Why wouldn't they know what Bajorans look like anyway?

The Federation didn't meet the Bajorans for the first time a year before Starfleet set up camp on Deep Space Nine.

The Bajorans had been in space in some shape or form for hundreds of years - no reason why the Federation wouldn't have already encountered them by the 2250s.

Just as we know that the Trill went on Earth as far back as the time of TOS.
