4th century empires

When the exiled Vulcans were traveling in the Beta Quadrant, who were the major interstellar powers at that time?

There's a trilogy of novels, Vulcan's Soul, IIRC, that depict the Romulan exodus. I believe some aliens appear, but not many, and the only one I can recall were those weird brains from "The Gamesters of Triskelion".

I do not recall any known beings beyond the three brains?

What about the Hurq?
Did you mean this? if so there's nothing here abt the Hur'q status during the 4th century, and a note: I'm not familiar with Beta canon. ETA: But given what we do know abt them I wouldn't put it out of the realm of possibility that they were powerful during the 4th century

Wasn't Bajor still up and about this time? Or were they in their sort of weird planetbound phase? Ditto Ferengi, though they may not had been in the Vulcan-Romulan area.

Yeah that’s who I’m referring to. Really the only episode that gives any substantial info on them is “Sword of Kahless”. Would’ve been interesting to have had another episode about them.

Apparently they were featured a bunch in STO. MB even has a picture of them. According to the MB page they made first contact with the Dominion, when it was "newly established" (dates for that vary), and was still around in the 14th century, so they were probably active in the 4th century.

Agreed. Since they were a threat to Kilngon Empire it would’ve been nice get more info on them. But i guess that’s what betacanon is for, exploring concepts the trek writers didn’t(or forgot abt).

It’s almost the sort of thing that calls for a movie or TV movie, as from what’s said in the episode indicates that the Hurq haven’t been around over 1,000 years. Maybe something like Babylon 5’s “In The Beginning” with Worf teaching Alexander some Klingon history.

Hm... Would be pretty interesting esp to see Worf's perspective on any events
