So when a Ferengi dies he bids for his next life... does that latinum end up benefitting Ferengi society in general, so that even Ferengi who come from modest backgrounds have a chance at becoming a success?

My understanding of this is as follows.
I thought that Ferengi value profit above all else. After a Ferengi dies, the profit that he earned in life can be used to buy his place in heaven. The profit is not physical latinum. It is more like he Buddhist idea of good Karma.

As for the wealth that a Ferengi has accumulated in his life, it goes to his brother. This is a good incentive for Ferengi to spend their wealth before they die.

Okay, a couple of things. First, please consolidate your responses into one post, using the multi-quote function (like I have here), instead of posting 3 times in a row.

Second, please don't post the same thing multiple times.

Both could be considered spamming if done repeatedly.

    Thanks

I think they only value one's personal wealth and not what impact each person has on their society.

But they do believe in the Great Material Continuum which is a sort of spiritual “invisible hand” that turns greed into social good.
