Spoilers How it will end, your predictions.

I don't have a lot of faith in it. This season has been good at showing spectable, but disappointing in overall execution.

How will it end? With the string on my *beep* popcorn horse feeder breaking and popcorn *beep* going everywhere. As I go to pick up the popcorn I knock over my *beep* 84 ounce barrel of soda that goes *beep* everywhere. Stubbing my toe on the way to get towels from kitchen I knock over the *beep* waste basket and *beep* goes everywhere.

Then my girlfriend calls and tells me that she is *beep* pregnant.

Good thing that the delirium has worn off from being sick.

Actually there is an outfit where someone was genius enough to turn the hood around to the front and filled it with popcorn.

But in reality Discovery won't end any time soon. The characters are to young to cast away and the Universe is too big of a place to simply say everything has been done or seen already. I think that Discovery will branch back into the original timeline between TOS and Picard somewhere. We have to know how the Klingons and Kelpiens who defended the Discovery before she jumped into the future were able to keep the secret of the Discovery a secret for nearly 1,000 years.

But when Discovery does come to end, like all good things must, I will be standing in front of the T.V. hair pulled out like Christ Farley, and as the credits end I will ask "What the h*ll was that about?"

Controversially. Like how it always seems to.

I’m guessing Burnham and the Discovery goes back in time and prevents the Burn from happening. Which may be as simple as just keeping the Kelpian ship from going into the nebula.

the downside is she never meets Booker.

It honestly wouldn't surprise me. She has that line in next week's preview. Something about the possibility of meeting again in some distant future. Or... something.

Don't quote me, obvs. LOL.

I have less to go on this season than the previous two. At the end of the first season, I knew they were going to wrap the Klingon War, but I didn't know how. At the end of the second season, I knew they had to defeat Control, but I didn't know how. This time, I don't know in general.

Taking Starfleet Command back from Osyraa can't be the whole thing. It all has to tie back to The Burn. Meeting again in "another distant future" and the fact that "Calypso" exists are the only two things I have to go on. And trailers can always mislead or take things out of context. So the lines in the trailer might not mean what they appear to. So good work Michelle Paradise! You have me stumped. I'm looking forward to seeing how it plays out.

The Emerald Chain is defeated / severely crippled. The Kelpian superkid is dead / contained / whatever. What's important is that HOPE is restored. After Burnham gives a rousing speech, Admiral Vance (very teary at this point), pulls her aside and whispers ...

Cut to shot of Discovery exterior at Starfleet HQ ... zoom away to rousing music.

Cut to: Dannus V - home of the Guardian of Forever. There, the timeless portal stands inactive. As we take in the serenity of the snowy vista, the Guardian suddenly bursts to life. A hooded figure comes thru the vortex and takes in his surroundings.

Then, Carl materialises out of thin air.

Carl: "Welcome to the 32nd Century, Jonathan."

It's none other than Jonathan Archer, played by the still-stunningly handsome Scott Bakula.

Archer: "Are you absolutely sure about this?"

Carl: "Jonathan, it has to be you. It's always been you."

Archer: "I don't understand. If the temporal war is over in the 32nd century, how can it start here?"

Carl: "Cause and effect, Jonathan. It doesn't work the same way in a temporal war. Your race is impressive, but persistently arrogant. It really believed it had mastered time itself when, in reality, it had only just begun to understand it's infinite complexity. They thought they had it all locked up because of their temporal accords and time travel bans <laughs>. They have no idea know it all started here. Now."

Archer: "The Discovery."

Carl: "Only you can stop them, Jonathan. Only you can stop her."

Close up of an intense Archer ... da-da-dooooom music. End credits.

Brace yourselves for the big reveal. I already was able to read the script for the season’s finale

Sukal is in fact Bakash from TNGs Future Imperfect. It is revealed that Bakash entrapped Michael Burnham, a failing Starfleet Academy cadet over 3 years ago during a field trip and made her his thought slave once again. Bakash made Burnham believe that she was a (demoted) Commander on a 23rd/32nd (just reversed!) century experimental vessel called Discovery fueled by mushrooms and good intentions. After 3 years of inconsistencies, Burnham finally understands that this can’t be reality (too many story fuckups...)

When Burnham realizes that she was basically trapped in a 3 year long fever dream she starts crying (twice). Sukal apologizes for the uninspired story and for stealing 3 years of Burnham’s life. The simulation gets deactivated, Burnham tries to get back into Starfleet Academy but gets rejected due to failing her last quantum mechanics exam. More crying. In the last shot we see Burnham dancing in a sleazy Orion strip club. She made her way after all...

There will be NO time travel to restore something in the past.

Quite possible that the planet will be mined and Starfleet/The Federation can begin restoring itself, but the season won't end with the Federation restored. Following seasons will focus on opening up relations with former members and reaching out for new ones. Reactions will be both optimistic and hopefull but also skeptical and held back. After a few seasons of this, we'll end the series itself with Burnham stepping away from Starfleet and try and make a life with Book on his homeworld.
