Di anyone else think Cable came from the Days of Future Past dark future at first? The ruined building and purple lighting was straight out of that, and then later it's happy families until pyro kid shows up.

Agreed. I'm sure that was intentional. They want to cherry pick bits of continuity to imply that it's in the same universe as the X-Men movies even though that makes no damn sense!

Yeah, it makes no damn sense on multiple levels.

For one thing, yeah, sure, Firefist killed his family and all, but you'd think he might also want to address the whole Sentinels killing everyone else thing, the selfish jerk!

I'm going to have to see this again.. I gave it an A-, but mostly because I KNOW it's supposed to be better than the impression I left with.. I was completely knackered when I saw it and dozed off twice. I laughed at quite a few of the jokes, but the audience I was with really just seemed lukewarm so I didn't laugh as much as I thought I would.

I missed a lot of details, so I'm really going to have to put off final judgement until next time... The quick look at the x-men in the room was far too quick and I couldn't tell who was there beyond Beast and Quicksilver.

You can find said scene it on Youtube pretty easily. Granted little blurry cam footage, but still.

There's Beast, Cyclops, Storm, Nightcrawler, Quicksilver and Xavier (all the "Prequel" actors) No Jean Grey though.

Weird they didn't have Jean Grey in there. I guess Sophie Turner was off in Ireland for that other mega-franchise.

I'd assume they filmed it during a quiet moment of production on Dark Phoenix. I doubt they'd have gotten all said actors together just for that tiny part. Maybe Sophie Turner wasn't working that day (or you could say maybe she doesn't survive said movie. But Deadpool's place in the X-Men timeline is a mess anyway... just like their own tbf. Seen as she'll back for the DOFP ending.)

I saw it for the first time Sunday and I thought that it was pretty good though I do prefer the first one a little more. I think that the humor worked better in the first movie and the action scenes were better in the Deadpool 2. Also I think that Zazie Beetz as Domino stole the show. I did not realize that Matt Damon and Alan Tudyk played the two rednecks talking about toliet paper until I was watching the extras.

The 4K blu-ray and the blu-ray versions come with an extended cut on a separate disc. I found an article that explains what's in the extended cut: https://screenrant.com/deadpool-2-extended-cut-additions-changes/2/ i haven't watch it yet but this will help. I almost never catch what's different in extended cuts.

We really needed more Domino.

But yay for second-long Brad Pitt cameos he did for scale and a coffee!

Just watched this last night. My Blu-ray arrived yesterday and I watched the theatrical cut first and then part of the 'super cut'. All in all, it was a decent outing, but lacked somewhat when compared to the first movie. Some of the jokes, dialog and gags just didn't land with me. When watching the 'super cut' it was easy to see which scenes were trimmed because they seemed to hang or drag on longer than needed. Some of the lines in scenes were also alternate takes.

Gave it a solid B

I just watched this for the first time this morning on Hulu, and I loved it. I honestly can't remember the first one, so I can't really say which was better.
Ryan Reynolds really did a great job, and it had some seriously great action. Most of the jokes got at least a chuckle out of me, and there were a few times I found myself shocked they actually went where they did.
My only complaint would be the fact that what happened to Vanessa is pretty much a text book example of fridging.

I took this as playing on the trope. I would have liked to see an actual refrigerator involved in her death though.

At least they unfridged (defrosted?) her at the end.
I have no idea if they did it deliberately, but I always saw it as subverting the trope to demonstrate its silliness (especially as they've done that with so many other storytelling cliches). But perhaps I'm giving them too much credit.
