I think only one shuttle is named in the Exeter films, the Archimedes. I don't know if @Serveaux picked that name for TTI, but it seems like a perfect fit with Galileo. When I briefly toyed with an aquashuttle for "Atlantis" I named it the Magellan in the rough draft, but even had I kept it I would have ultimately changed it because I try to not make ship names all Euro-centric. Knowing me, I'd have researched sea explorers from other cultures to pick a final name.

I'm not usually self-promotional on this board. However, I thought I'd post my latest project, which isn't a fan film, but an audio drama podcast.

    We Don't Belong Here
Three friends find themselves lost in a mysterious forest. The only problem: beyond the trees lies a dark secret.

Now they must confront their hidden pasts while battling a terrifying, life-sucking creature.

Soon, the trio will learn they don’t really belong here. Or anywhere for that matter.

We Don’t Belong Here is a genre-bending podcast through horror and South Asian, Filipino, and Islamic Mythologies.

    Credits:

We Don’t Belong Here is an Avaaz Media production.

Created by Tamara Syed, Sim Dhugga, and Ryan Thomas Riddle.

From a concept by Tamara Syed and Sim Dhugga.

    Executive Producer: Ryan Thomas Riddle

    Producer: Tamara Syed

    Voice Director/Producer: Sim Dhugga

I'm the co-creator and co-writer of this production. And it even has a Trek connection as the creature is played by Kavi Raz — i.e. Lt. Singh in "Lonely Among Us" (TNG).

Listen to the First Episode here.

    Read the Show Notes.

Our second episode will be released on November 24th. I hope you all enjoy it!

Thanks for your continued support Bixby. Its been a long, bumpy road and despite some of our downfalls, we hope that the message of our story will shine through and be faithful to the original series.

ENDOSYMBIOSIS: A Star Trek Fan Film - YouTube
This video just popped into my Youtube feed. It's apparently from Neutral Zone studios from Georgia, using the sets from the defunct Star Trek Continues.
They've got really nice CG effects, but the story will likely make Maurice tear his hair out.:rommie: Some instances of pretty cringey dialogue,
This is their second fan film outing, here is their first

The actor playing the Captain sure gets transferred a lot. In these two films he plays the captain for both the USS Republic AND the Kongo (and in Starship Valiant latest film, he's the captain for the Constitution )
    Watch if you must

Captain Jim, (Jim Von Dolteren) as we warmly call him, appeared in his first fan film as the captain of the USS Constitution in the fan film His Name Is Mudd by Glen Wolfe. I wanted to use that character as a continuation and thank you for Glen Wolfe allowing me to appear in that film. We shot that footage of him way back in 2017. Since that time he has appeared in a multitude of fan films. Great guy by the way.

I got confused which film you were talking about since you shared two in reverse release order.

    ENDOSYMBIOSIS:
Sorry, but story...what story? It's just things that happen.

Helm: "Captain, inertia is pulling us forward." Um, that's not inertia.

Science Officer: "this is not a wormhole, it reads as a ... living organism."
    ...not a minute later...
Science Officer: "sensors show we are inside the wormhole."
    MAKE. UP. YOUR. MIND.

All the male crewmembers vanish, but then so does the woman at the navigation station. What is that telling us?

They can't pull away from this wormhole/organism/whatever, but once they're inside they can just warp out. Huh?

Um, chromosomes are not entirely how gender works. There cis men and women who do not fall into purely XX and XY.

I'd never seen their first film, Starship Republic Serpent of Yesterday

Hoo boy. This isn't a film. It's just a very long teaser.

If it's supposed to be an "And You Are There" thing where we're supposed to put ourselves in the captain's place and decide what action to take, that's a concept one could play with, but if that were the intent it doesn't work. It's just a cliffhanger with no payoff and a whole lot of sound and fury signifying nada.

Once they go to the bridge not a single person acts logically.

After their first hit the Captain wastes times switching people's stations instead of immediately ordering evasive maneuvers.

It takes him almost a minute of screentime to even get to "prepare to break orbit!" More than a little late...

The Chief balks that the Republic's shields can't be extended around the Columbia, and we can infer that visiting Commander has extended them but that should have been made plainer and a greater moment of conflict.

The Doctor comes on the bridge, seems barely awake, and after checking on Ensign Fauxhawk just forgets his patient on the floor (dead?) so he can plead with the Captain about something that he wasn't even in the briefing for (same with the Yeoman).

Neither the Captain nor visiting Commander think to suggest that the Columbia immediately break orbit, or even that the stronger Republic get between the attacker and Columbia while she tries to get away. No, they just putter along like targets on a track in a carnival shooting gallery.

Of course they don't, because their idea of a Star Trek solution is to immediately return fire without first knowing anything other than they're being shot at. It's the way of the "pew pew".

Okay, I'm gonna be a little self-promotional here again. So please Great Bird forgive me.

I've been working hard these past few years on achieving my goal of writing for television. And this coming week I'll be one step closer to achieving that goal.

This Thursday, 4/22, at 6 PM PST/9 PM EST, a group of talented thespians will do a livestream table read of my solo script, "Orpheus" for a crime anthology series, Hell, California.

Struggling with a meth addiction, a gay jazz musician returns home seeking absolution from his past sins, and gets mixed up in murder, drugs, and perverse sexual desires, endangering his sobriety.

The story is a hardboiled queer noir partly inspired by the Orpheus myth.

You can watch live on Thursday, 4/22, at 6 PM PST/9 PM EST, at the following link:

    YouTube:

The video will go live on that day!

If you can, I'd love for y'all to watch it!

The Personal Collection - (Ep. #7) - Star Trek: Anthology - YouTube
Thanks to Michael L. King's Youtube channel, here is the opening stinger section to what would have been the Starship Challenger fan film series that was announced a few years ago (and cancelled I would assume). They had planned to do a Gary Seven series as well IIRC.
The filming and FX work is more than decent. I can't really tell about the story from just these few minutes. Only comment that comes to mind is, would it be so easy to move a dead body? (but what do I know?)

"To introduce mankind's presence throughout the galaxy"? Talk about invasive species. ;)

As I recall this was gonna be another "get back on the horse" and take command story, which did not excite me, given the reluctant captain topos, but it's nice to see a bit of what they were doing.

    It's in the video description:

We are very honored to bring the very first teaser preview of the proposed trek fan series entitled "Star Trek: Anthology," originally released back in ‎June ‎20, ‎2016. This would have been a fan series in the vein of the original Twilight Zone show featuring different trek stories with different casts. Unfortunately, when the Fan Film Guidelines hit, the series was cancelled with this teaser being the pinnacle of their creation. The teaser stars the very talented Jodi Bray as Captain Colt and would have featured an adventure on the USS Ajax. This segment was filmed at James Cawley's Phase 2 sets and the series was created by James Bray. Special thanks to James Bray for allowing us to share this with you all and please show your love by liking the video. Thank you.
"The pinnacle of their creation."

Gotta give the Dominion folks credit for perseverance. I completely missed this film when it was released 4 months ago, but better late than never...
It's a fan film alright...some of the CG is weird. The modelling is ok, but the textures are amateur hour. The directing with its odd camera shots and eyelines that rarely match keep hitting me in the face...
BUT!! I still remember their first couple of entries, and these people ARE improving!! who knows what we'll see in a couple more years
