Spoilers The Mandalorian season 2 discussion

Ezra seems less likely when you consider that there's a whole Ahsoka show to come, and it would likely need to cover at least some of that ground.

I'm still holding out hope for Barris (very unlikely, I know) since it seems the more interesting choice. Or failing that maybe Filloni is going to repurpose his Ahsoka origin story and have an evil character show up posing as a Jedi. Maybe a rogue surviving Nightsister, maybe a Sith acolyte, ex-Inquisitor or a fallen Order 66 survivor. Or just an out-and-out fraud.

That's assuming of course that thread is paid off here. Remember that Boba's return was teased last season and it took this long to pay it off!

Didn't Asajj Ventress survive TCW and we never learned her fate after the Barriss Offee/Ahsoka story arc? I could see her being Force sensitive enough to pick up on the call from Grogu and come to investigate, and with this being about 30 years after the end of the Clone Wars she would be a redeemed character by this point, having spent the entire Dark Times and Galactic Civil War in hiding or keeping a low profile. Watching the Sith take over the galaxy and then impose a brutal dictatorship could have soured her completely against everything she had been taught by Count Dooku.

I am hoping to see a new Jedi character. Probably not though.

It would be interesting if Grogu contacted numerous people with force powers, good and bad.

We never did see Mace’s body.
Sure we did. We saw his dead body go flying out a window.
Sure he got fried by lightning but he was still alive when he fell.
Nope. he was 100% dead. As if Palpatine would ever pass up the chance to snuff out a Jedi Master with his own hands or leave it to chance. Yoda seemingly fell to his death, but Palps still sent the senate clone detachment after him just to be sure. Zero such concern for Mace. Because as previously discussed: dead.

So, what's going to be the big cliffhanger? A Luke Skywalker appearance? Grogu remains captured? The Mando appears to have died?

Mando: "Hand over Grogu Baby Yoda!"
Moff Gideon (grinning wildly): "Sure, Grogu, Baby Yoda, go to Mando if you want"
Grogu, Baby Yoda appears in a black robe from behind Moff Gideon
Grogu, Baby Yoda speaks for the first time ever: "Go to Mando, want, I do not"
Grogu, Baby Yoda makes familiar choking motion with his fingers and <Name your good guy on team Mando> drops dead to the ground
To Be Continued...

I am inclined to think you are right, but there is that small sliver that thinks the fan service might win out with that whole "Well, we didn't see him actually land so...*shrug*" no matter how implausible.

That said, I genuinely hope for new Force users.

never heard about this alternate origin, details?
Nothing alternate about it, just to date it has never been told in full in a story, only alluded to in the 'Ahsoka' novel and a few episodes.
Being dead doesn't really matter with sci-fi peeps. Come on.

Boba Fett was dead. Fennec Shand was dead.
No they weren't. Boba was still alive the last we saw him and perfectly well equipped to escape his predicament. Fennec was shown to be found and implicitly rescued the the very episode where she was shot and left for dead.

Well someone just took Grogu in an unexpected direction.
