In Terra Firma Pt. 1, Yor appears in the Season 1-2 TNG uniform. Yet he time traveled from 2379, which would dictate a First Contact era uniform. Just an observation.
Yeah. My interpretation was that, since he was described as a "temporal soldier" and that the particular hologram was from when he started experiencing symptoms.Kelvin timeline uniforms could be different. Or more likely he was wearing the uniform of the time period he was traveling to in prime timeline.
Oh yeah. Have to dissect every singleThat uniform gets a ton of attention. Wow.
Looks like this wasn't the only "Yor" who was a hunter from the future!

The pips were way too matte for me. The people running the Discovery production have no freaking respect for Trek. That uniform gets a ton of attention. Wow.

Considering Yor was supposed to be from the Kelvin Timeline, and we're sticking with the conceit that 2379 Kelvin Timeline Starfleet was wearing the TNG season 1-2 uniforms, I'm surprised they went to the trouble of digitally "correcting" his comm badge. Couldn't we just accept that 2379 Kelvin Timeline Starfleet was wearing TNG S1-2 uniforms with TNG movie/DS9 season 3-7/Voyager/Picard flashback comm badges?
Honestly, it makes the most sense. He probably wouldn't have displayed any of the disruption to his body for a bit and so likely be on mission. Otherwise, the descriptor of "temporal soldier" is rather meaningless fluff.I know the assumption from dialogue and that Memory Alpha takes is that Yor's uniform is what a Kelvinverse 2379 uniform looks like. I prefer the upthread theory that Yor had at least one mission posing as a TNG-era crewman in the 2350s or early 2360s, and that is the holoimage we are seeing. They specified him as being a Lieutenant Commander, and the uniform clearly shows no pips, in either the original or "corrected" versions of the scene. That's why I assume the Lt. Cdr is posing as an unranked crewman.
The real reason, I suspect, that he was wearing that uniform, was because they needed a huge neckline to accommodate that weird neck frill thing they insist on giving their Betelgeusians. The TNG era uniforms are the only uniforms, I believe, that can be adjusted to fit.
