I guess they are going back to the stand alone movie route if Rogue Squadron is coming out in 2023 and the stand alone movies will fill the slots that were for the planned trilogy.

So basically an updated canon version of the old series Droids.

New movie, Rogue Squadron, is being directed by Patty Jenkins.

As in X-Wing Rogue Squadron, post-ROTJ Dark Horse comic book series?

Unclear. It will probably be the next Star Wars film to come out, but when it is set is unclear.

Note that there was both the Dark Horse comic series and the Book series (that came first, but was set after the comic series events). Also a follow up book series about Wraith Squadron, which was more as special covert operations unit that also used starfighters.

Maybe this will inspire them to release the whole series on DVD or streaming. I've been curious about that and the Ewoks series for quite a while, and would love to see official full series releases.
