Grace Randolph claiming Charlie Cox is now a lock for Spidey 3 as Matt Murdock, who will be Peter's lawyer. Fiege had considered using the position as a backdoor for Jennifer Walters, but felt the Spider-Man connection was strongest with Matt. Cox may also be in the She-Hulk series.

Didn't Godzilla appear in some Marvel Universe comics when they had the rights to him?
He had his own series that ran 24 issues in which he ran afoul of SHIELD and many Marvel heroes. In fact, if I recall correctly, he even came literally face-to-face with J Johah Jameson up one point when Jonah was yelling out of his window.

Marvel has used the "character" since losing the rights, but they call him by a different name and fudged some of the details of his history, similar to how they handle Fu Manchu in the Shang-Chi comics.

So now it seems a lot of sites jumped the gun and have pulled the story of Charlie Cox showing up. Empire magazine pulled the story and I would have said they would be reliable. Unfortunately it seems they just went ahead and reported what they saw on instagram.

An Easter egg or allusion doesn't have to be understood by the whole audience, just those who are in the know. For instance, Agent Carter's Edwin Jarvis showing up in Avengers: Endgame. To people who haven't seen Agent Carter, it's just "Oh, Howard Stark's butler was named Jarvis, that must be who Tony named his A.I. after." It's a side detail that fits smoothly into the story and doesn't confuse anyone. But to those who are familiar with the show, it's "OMG IT'S JARVIS THE MOVIES FINALLY ACKNOWLEDGED THE TV SHOWS YAY!" Or thoughts to that effect.

Bugger. :(

Damn.
Mostly it was Marvel characters appearing in Godzilla's comic (Dum-Dum Dugan and his SHIELD team were regulars), but I think the big G made cameos in a few other titles.

OK, I was
Jeff Sneider is trustworthy as a source. Unless things have changed, he definitely does things by the book.
OK, they seemed like they were, but I had never paid that close of attention to how much of what they reported did end up being true.

That's how it works today. Most sites don't actually break their own news or even have any reporters. They just repeat what other sites say in order to steal clicks away. And when they're proven wrong, no one seems to care, so they keep on doing it.

Look how often a story is linked on this forum, but when you look at the story, it just refers to what they pulled from another site.

I've been trying to at leas note where the link leads and where the original news came from when I post news stories.
