I think it's just a little atmosphere.I have noticed this season they have scenes in almost every episode showing the repair robots , they are also showcased quite a bit in the title sequence. Do you think they will play a bigger part in later in the season or is this some type of red herring?
CBS wants to get into Baby Yoda selling toys and merchandise territory. Sorry CBS, you ain’t Disney.I have noticed this season they have scenes in almost every episode showing the repair robots , they are also showcased quite a bit in the title sequence. Hah!CBS wants to get into Baby Yoda selling toys and merchandise territory. Sorry CBS, you ain’t Disney.
I wish they had held off until now. It would seem more special and cool if we hadn't already had floaty robots hanging around. Same goes for the ubiquitous holograms.I love that Discovery has given us robots in Trek. I recall it being something Bryan Fuller talked about waaaaaaaay back in 2016. Yes, they're R2/BB8 wannabes but I still adore the DOT-7's and their 32nd century friends.
The credits also include a lot of tech like phasers and com badges, which don't have a prominent role in the drama.Ditto.
The robots are in a prominent role in the opening credits. Time crystals were in a prominent role in the opening credits long before we learned that they were time crystals and had a prominent role in the drama. QED.

This is true. The whole 31st century thing would look a lot more impressive if they'd jumped from authentic TOS visuals too rather than their "make it look as advanced as possible!" reboot to the "oh shit, make everything white plastic!" future.I wish they had held off until now. It would seem more special and cool if we hadn't already had floaty robots hanging around. Same goes for the ubiquitous holograms.
I agree to an extent. Certain things would have looked better in the future if they (or something similar) wasn't already there in the past. But if by "authentic TOS visuals" you mean something that actually looks similar to TOS, I don't think that was ever going to happen. This is true. The whole 31st century thing would look a lot more impressive if they'd jumped from authentic TOS visuals too rather than their "make it look as advanced as possible!" reboot to the "oh shit, make everything white plastic!" future.
I sincerely doubt it.CBS wants to get into Baby Yoda selling toys and merchandise territory. Sorry CBS, you ain’t Disney.
I was happy until you said the crossover.Imagine if Disney bought the Star Trek Franchise and merchandised the hell out of it.
We might even get a Star Trek x Star Wars cross over =D
With "Red Evil" eyes..This week MU robots! LOL
