the speed of light is definitely not infinite (that would be warp 10!), it’s around 300 000 km/s. And they shouldn’t be able to hear sound from objects in space anyway...

I am referring to signals sent from halfway across the galaxy that they can see instantaneously.

Ossayra might like to recut them once they grow in.

I understood that the way she cut them, they wouldn't grow back. Although why can't he get artificial antennae? If Nog can get an artificial leg, Seven an artificial eye, Bareil an artificial brain (at least in part) then artificial antennae doesn't seem that out of the question.

I'm not sure that it is absolutely impossible that Book et al could have heard the explosions. The Orion ship and Discovery could have been operating at the edge of space, which on earth would be around 70 miles. IIANM, the Orion ship would appear to be 3 inches in length if it were 1 miles in actuality. At that altitude, there should still be atmosphere. It would all come down to the particulars.

Nothing in the show said they were light, they were just signals. They could have been some sort of subspace signal.

Sometimes even those take time, depends on plot convenience I guess. On DS9 we learn that a subspace transmission takes weeks to get across the Quadrant.

Or, its a visual medium meant for drama. Like how lasers turned to phasers.

It's especially good to see Burnham happy. Loved the moment she had with the kid - I just want to see more of happy, fun Burnham!
Agreed! More smiles, less tears please. And the smile at the end was beautiful.

I always assumed they traveled trough subspace.

This is a show where you can hear sound in space.

And water turns into ice, while what happens in our world is that water in a vacuum boils away. I've seen it happen. You put a glass of water under an airtight bell and you can see it boil as soon as you pump the air out. If someone was exposed to the vacuum of space even for a few seconds, his eyes and mouth would be dry as a bone and all the air in his lungs would be gone.

You know, a family show.

Worst episode this season and looks worse in comparison due to how good most of the others were.

Plot seemed thin and unconvincing. Resolution was twee and convenient.

Oh well, overall still a great season.
