What’s interesting about that in that the name “Kelvin timeline” came to be because of STO as Daniels in that game calls it that. That means that’s the in universe name for it so they could adopt that into this show if they wanted to.

Don't even go to the "uniforms" generations was a fucking disaster. They changed uniforms mid scene. Kelvin was at least scene consistent. Whatever. These TNG uniforms looked great. Had to pause the promo to confirm they looked great even with the weird neck, which looks fine in the expanded look.
It's weird that they showed the zipper TNG uniform, but it was also awesome. While I enjoy this fandjob, I also kind of dig the twisting motion provided by the TNG era Kelvin reference. This season has been overkill on the fanwank, but I keep cuming back. The ships and tech upgrades are the best part, but the references are pretty fucking sweet.
Speculation edit: S31 is a time travel show and Georgiou's mutidimensional time travel thing with the cure they find makes it all possible.

There's a couple angles in the teaser clip where you can tell it's not the right badge, but it's only really noticeable if you look for it.
It might not even be an error, but a practicality. They probably didn't think it was worth it to make a new badge for one scene and just decided to replace it in post.
